This gel is everything you need for braiding. I use this brand in both this one (smooth) and another (ultra hold). I like both of them depending on the location of the braid(s) and how long you’re needing them to last. Typically I use both in different areas. They don’t have ingredients that I don’t like and it does contain ingredients I like. It smells good and lasts. No flaking or weird residue. A little goes a long way. I’m a life time customer for this brand. I also like the bracing mouse and scalp oil. Must have for braids

I love this product. It is my first time using it. I use it to braid hair hold hair down effectively has an amazing smell. I have the tea tree one as we know Tea tree doesn’t smell so good but this product smells amazing. I also believe the amount of product for the price is a good deal.

I grew my hair back after the big chop and I chose to slick my hair down with this product then sprayed some oil on it afterwards. This gel like product, has a light fresh smell, perfect hold and kept my hair also moisturized. Later on this month I will be either two strand twisting or watermelon braiding my hair with this product . It’s seems to hold hairstyles perfectly for a long lasting shiney hold Feeling really good about this product and would recommend anyone to us for making neat rows of braids or twists and /or slicking down successfully . 😄

I waited a few days to write this, so that I can see how it holds over time-
I normally use Shine N’ Jam locking gel to retwist my dreads, and it works very well, but I wanted a change in scent, so I went for this Pineapple Braid Gel, which smells great, by the way. To be honest, I may not be going back. I find that it holds the retwist in place for days. As long as I cover my hair with a head wrap when I go to bed, and and don’t do anything crazy to mess up my hair – it holds the shape. It’s also a very good parting gel, as you can see in the pictures, however, I haven’t parted my hair, but it would work, if only I find the time and patience to do that, lol.
Also, it leaves absolutely NO RESIDUE whatsoever, which is a major key in finding the perfect retwisting gel.

The gel is very thick which was great for getting my hair to braid around my extensions. It did not flake which is good as well. And it washed right off without a fuss. However the itch was awful! At first I thought it was just the way the extensions are and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to stand them. But the moment I washed my hair the itch disappeared. This was the only thing on my hair for the install. And the extensions were clean going in.
