I am almost 55 years old. My beard is pretty much completely white (yes, not gray, actually white). My sides are pretty much the same way. The only little bit of my original dark brown hair that is left is on top and that has become less and less as time goes on. I have been using this product on both my hair and beard for a couple years or so now and had great results.
I have seen some reviews reporting hair loss. My hair is pretty fine and I have had no hair loss using this product. This is the best alternative out there to traditional hair dyes.
Do not expect instant results. It is not meant to work that way. It is a gradual change. When I first started using it, I used it every day until I got to the color I liked. It took around 2 weeks or so I think. Since then I use it 2 to 3 times a week and that’s it. A small dab for my hair and a small dab for my beard is all it takes. You do not have to use a large amount. One tube should last you for a while.
It does not work as well on very short hair. I keep my sides buzzed and it does darken some, just not as much as the longer hair. So it does look like I have a little gray on the sides, but I do not mind this. It looks much more natural than all my hair just being one solid color from hair dye. And it is not white, it still darkens some.
I use this on my beard as well and have from the start. I do not think there is much difference from the Control GX they sell for beards. But as I said, it does not work as well on shorter hair. So if you have a close cropped beard, your results will vary.
I do get some darkening of the fingernails, but I just use a fingernail file on them to remove the stains about once every couple months. Not a big deal and small price to pay for the convenience and natural results.
So if you are tired of trying cover your gray with traditional hair dye, this product is definitely worth a try. I am very happy that I discovered it and I will never go back to traditional hair dyes. Natural looks, convenience and great cost make this a must have and a great value. Highly recommended.

Keeps me from looking my age, honestly. Trick is to use the outer palms to apply and use cold water to rinse after you “lather” the rest of your bod with body soap. let is seep for a few minutes. Simple. I like simple. Keeps my hair soft too. Been buying it for years.

Product seems to work. And it leaves you smelling like a musty old man. Now I know why so many old men smell the way they do. 😤

Nice product which helps color your gray hair. It will take sometime to show effect.

My last haircut was exactly two weeks and one day ago. Lately I’d been noticing in random pictures of me with my kids that the grey in my hair was more prominent than the black, even with hair gel helping to mask the grey. At the barber, seeing all of that grey in stark contrast to the black drape really triggered me to want to do something, but what?

I have a buddy who is about the same age and wears his hair short like me, and he started going to get his hair dyed a couple years ago. To be honest, his hair color never looks good. It’s either a weird shade of reddish brown, or he looks like a skunk with black tips on white hair, or it looks unnaturally dark for a middle aged dude. All that cost and maintenance to not look good.

I had huge reservations in trying Control GX. I read all the reviews. Surely it couldn’t actually work the way they describe, could it? It just seems too easy.

Well, gents, it really is that easy. And the results really do speak for themselves. Check out my picture. Those are exactly 2 weeks apart, using the shampoo 1-2x a day. Both have my typical amount of hair gel in. The difference is shocking and yet subtle. I think I’m going to go into maintenance mode from here because it still looks natural, just a bit younger.

Some notes to help make the experience as positive as possible:

    1) I used gloves. Palms only didn’t feel like it gave me the control I wanted to get the shampoo where I wanted it, and even when I tried to use palms only I still had light staining of my nails after just one wash.
    2) Use and old or grey towel. Preferably an old, grey towel. It WILL stain your towel slightly.
    3) I got some light staining of the skin around my hairline initially. It was easy to remove with some exfoliant and scrubbing, but now I’m very careful to only apply the shampoo to my hair (gloves help) and then immediately wipe the skin alone my hairline with freshly washed hands while the shampoo is doing its thing while I wash the rest of me. After I wash my body, I rinse out my hair really well and then wash my face/ears/neck. I’m guessing the shampoo is sitting on my hair for about 4-5 minutes per shower.
    4) Rinse your shower walls and floor. Splatters will stain, although they’re pretty easy to remove off of our white tile. Thankfully we have one of those separate hand nozzles in the shower, so it’s convenient.
    5) I find that the dyed hair is a bit duller than natural, which is not an issue for me since my gel has a bit of gloss to it.

I think that’s it! 2 weeks to a new you! Trust me, I’m as surprised as anyone that something so inexpensive could be so effective and subtle. Oh, and I had no irritation. Good luck!

Product arrives in original, shrink-wrapped, store-bought condition. It colors white and gray hairs brown. In my experience It works best on slightly longer hair, and has limited effect on close-cut hair trimmed with clippers. You will want to do a skin test on your arm about 24-48 hours prior to using on your hair to make sure you’re not sensitive. Plan that into your coloring timeline. This has subtle, yet natural coloration based on how long you leave it in and how regularly you use it. It is nice to use in shower, so it’s easy to apply like shampoo, with no messes to clean up. It only has a mild coloring odor. No chemical smell on hair after rinsing. It could stain your lighter tile or counters, so place something like a silicone soap holder under the bottle after every use as a precaution. The coloring runs purple when rinsed out. The color may get on towels after drying off, but my experience is it washes right out in the laundry. You still might not want to use your best towels as a precaution. Take care to rinse and wash hands after application so that no color remains on hands to discolor around nails.

Just started using it and like it so far. Pleasant scent and no mess. Use your palms when lathering it on. A little goes a long way. Let it sit for several minutes while you wash the rest of your body, then wash it off. No problems with staining on the towel, but I use the dabbing process, not heavy rubbing to dry. No issues with nail bed discoloring. Subtle hair darkening is notable.
