Once you get to the bottom of the gel, because the gel tub is so small, digging your edge brush in there becomes impossible! Despite this, the smell is great and my edges do feel soft. The effect is has on my hair drastic because it does slick them down and my hair does tend to retain its moisture as it would with any other gel.

Hi Ladies, I love this product it’s so good I have natural hair and I have the locs so finding a good edge control is a mission in itself I found this product it’s so good there’s no flakiness it doesn’t turn white it does hold well it smells good it’s a really great product ..only downfall is that the jar is so small it comes in a small tiny size and it is a bit expensive for the size but because I have been on a search for an edge cream that works I have been paying the price for this and will continue to do so because the product is really good I just buy them in bulk maybe like 4 of them at a time!

I Love this product as soon as I washed & conditioned my hair I applied this product and left it an extra 10 minutes I noticed the feeling of my hair immediately. I was so blown away with the smell and texture of my hair let me also mention how clean my hair feels. Volume and performance is a plus . It’s nice to finally have some moisture which was missing for a long while. And honestly speaking I wasn’t looking for the Thickness yet but it’s definitely improving. I will definitely continue using all of the products!!

I like the texture it gives and the shine. It is very light and the result is good so far. Waiting to see the long term result. It is not sticky but holds the edges in place and the smell is very mild and unique.

Revision 05/14/2023: I am still using daily the same 2oz container of Rosemary Mint Edge I purchased in December, 2022. A tube of conventional hair gel would normally last me two months at the most. I can see this lasting at least until July. Amazing product!

An update to my original review below. I started using this product in December being very impressed by the Rosemary Mint shampoo, oil and masque I had previously purchased. Although the gel is in a 2oz container (without tamper proof protection – which is disconcerting) I have to say that just a little goes a long way. I use this daily and it will probably be the beginning of March before I need to purchase again. So with my usage it probably lasts three months.
Although this appears to be marketed for women and particularly those of African descent – Mielle’s Rosemary Mint products are suitable for ALL hair types, regardless of race and gender. I am an aging Caucasian male with fine, thinning, grey hair and my wife is Asian with strong thick hair. We both love the Mielle Rosemary Mint range of hair products.
My method of applying the Rosemary Mint Edge Gel: after shampooing and while hair is still damp, take a very small amount of the gel spread on fingertips and tap or stroke it over combed hair. Comb again to style. When hair is dry, comb out. Result: a natural soft style without the glue-like residue or brittleness of commercial gels.
Use of the Mielle Rosemary Mint range leaves the scalp clean and refreshed. I highly recommend this product but wish that it would come with a tamper proof seal.

The Mielle Organics Rosemary range of products are generally wonderful. The shampoo, masque, rosemary hair oil are all reasonably priced per quantity and quality. I ordered the Rosemary “Edge Gel” which only comes in a 2oz size and costs $6.99. It arrived without tamper proof protection and appeared to be around 5/8ths full which caused me to wonder whether someone else had sampled it along the way. An 8oz tube of conventional hair gel costs around the same. The product works fine – but miserly in quantity and therefore too expensive. I would suggest that Mielle Organics at least double the quantity for that price. I am also puzzled why they market their product as “By women for women”. That cuts out a good portion of the population. There is nothing overtly feminine about the herb Rosemary – which has been in popular use as a medicine, topical application, cleanser and culinary herb for centuries.

If your hair is stubborn, thick or kinky and you have the fly aways or little pieces around your edges, then it MAY be too light. It does have a light hold, but I notice it stays on better when I double up in product or/& when my hair is dry. Otherwise I love the fact it doesn’t leave it too sticky and it’s really clean. 9/10.
