I have naturally wavy/slightly curly hair that comes to the middle of my back. I read that for my hair type, it is better to wrap it in a t-shirt (instead of a towel) to speed up the air-drying process. But most of my t-shirts are not large enough to hold all of my hair, because I’m petite and so are my tees. I tried using my husband’s t-shirts, but they’re too big to fit my small head. So this product looked interesting to me.
Thought #1 – this is indeed a soft, t-shirt-type fabric. It isn’t thick (thinner than a t-shirt) and isn’t particularly absorbent (like a towel would be) but it is very effective.
Thought #2 – this looks like a big/long oval-shaped t-shirt, minus the holes for the neck and arms. If you can sew, you can probably take a jersey-type fabric, cut it into an oval, and add a bit of elastic at the two narrow ends and you could make your own.
Thought #3 – for the price you get TWO of these, which I did not realize when I ordered and was happy to discover when my order was delivered.
Using It – The box shows illustrated instructions, which I embarrassingly needed. Once I did it one time, I felt dumb for not having figured it out on my own, because it was super simple. Anyhow…you bend at the waist, plop your hair down, and put one narrow end at the back of your neck, then you twist it once near your forehead (making sure your hair is all in there) and stand up, and ‘tuck’ the front narrow/elastic part to the back of your head.
Results – After towel-drying/scrunching my hair, I put in my leave-in conditioner and removed all tangles, then applied my ‘hair product’ (which is just jojoba oil). Then I put this thing on. I wore it around the house – it is comfortable. Then I went to sleep. It stayed on while I was sleeping and didn’t bother me one bit. In total, it was on my head for about 10 hours. When I took it off, my hair was uniformly mostly-dry and then dried completely within minutes after removing this wrap. It wasn’t any frizzier than normal, and my waves were more uniform from top to bottom than if I had air-dried my hair ‘down’ or ‘up’ in a bun. I don’t like having my hair on my face/neck (especially while sleeping) so this was nice for air-drying and sleeping with.

Obwohl ich mir das selbst nähen könnte, habe ich mir aus Bequemlichkeit diesen Turban gekauft. Seitdem benutze ich nur noch diesen. Davon bekommen die Locken weniger Frizz.
Hat sich total gelohnt. Hält richtig gut auf dem Kopf. Ich wickel noch ein Handtuch drüber, wenn ich eine Zeitlang mit dem Fönen warten will.

I’ve been using my husband’s tee shirts for plopping my hair. They work, but they’re not super comfortable. In order to keep them secure around my head I have to knot them very tightly, and after a while, this gives me a splitting headache! I’d been looking for a good plopping towel that wasn’t microfiber. I have some, and they’re good, but they make my curls frizzy, if I leave my hair in them too long. I chanced upon this tee shirt towel by Goody and thought I’d give it a try. The reviews I’d read were mixed, but I thought I’d get one and see for myself. Well, I’m hooked. This tee shirt towel is super soft, and so easy to plop my curls in. The elastic isn’t too strong so it doesn’t get too tight on my head and cause a headache. Also, the way it folds onto your head creates two layers on tee shirt material for your hair to lay between. It keeps your wet hair off your scalp, which for me, is very comfortable. The only downside, is that my curls were still pretty wet after taking my hair out. I even predried my hair with one of my microfiber towels before plopping in the tee shirt towel. I’ve never been able to air dry my hair properly. It’s too thick, and I’m not a fan of having a wet head all day or all night, unless it’s the middle of the summer and 90 degrees out. Anyway, I digress.
I did notice that my curls were less frizzy after using this teeshirt towel. Overall, it was a good buy. I recommend it for all those who need a comfy, tee shirt towel to plop with.

I am back to buy another one because 1 is just not enough. Takes up very little room unlike a thick towel but it’s light and absorbant and really big so you can wrap up your hair with plenty of material to work with plus it STAYS PUT!! It dries quickly on a hook when you’re done, it’s well made, easy to wash and dry and it does exactly what it says. All the women in my family are getting one for Christmas. If I had one request….MAKE THEM IN WHITE TOO. I’m just a fan of white towels so it would blend and I think I’m not alone…otherwise…perfection!!

Compared to “The Perfect Haircare Microfiber Hair Towel Wrap,” or all the cap-&-tail-twist turbans, the Conair T-Shirt Towel, at 1/3rd the price, is a much better buy and much easier to use. I’ve got very thick, below-the-shoulder length wavy-curly hair. The Conair cotton t-shirt towel is gentle on my curls and easily accommodates my thick mane “plop” without getting caught in the tortured twists of all the turban-style hair wraps (which only result in pulling & straightening my wavy-curly hair). And it stays on nicely without having to be so tightly twisted up, so it allows my plop to remain up top & un-squashed. Plus, it’s very light-weight, so you won’t feel a heavy weight on your head, like some bulky towels do.
Just open the canoe-shaped towel, plop your wet hair near one end of the soft towel, *make only one twist* in the middle of the length of the towel, & then pull the other open end over the cap now on your head (so you end up with a cap fitted over the first cap). Easy; no fumbling with out-of-sight buttons or loops! Makes a cute, floppy “cap” that sits comfortably on top your head and absorbs the water from your hair, while you do other things without dripping. Comfortable enough to sleep in to protect your “do.” Great to keep your hair off your face while you beautify with lotions or makeup. I hang it on my faucet knob in the shower to drip dry. Easy to wash between uses, just throw it into the washer & dryer with your laundry (but avoid washing with softeners and other laundry additives, as you don’t want that residue getting onto your hair the next time you use the Conair T-Shirt Towel).

I bought this for my curls and I’m starting to see a difference. I’ve seen other reviews say it was thin but this towel is thick enough to absorb the water and not drip. It does dry my hair fast and I’m able to apply my products with ease. I still need to practice tying it. Also, all my hair fits in the towel (my hair is fine and passes my shoulders) but i could see it not fitting people with thicker/longer hair. Overall, I’m very happy with the product.
