Works well to help break up knots and matts on an old english sheepdog coat, which feels so soft and smells lovely afterwards. Its not cheap, but it is fabulous!

I had highlights put in my hair about 6 months ago, and it has been horribly fried ever since. The knots and tangles started about 2 inches from my scalp and continued pretty much the length of my hair. I have never had such fried hair in all my life. I have no idea what my stylist did, as my hair was healthy before I went in. Since then I have used all kinds of shampoos, conditioners and leave in hair protectors (Joico/K-Pak, It’s a 10, Biosilk, Pantene, Ion silk drops even straight coconut oil–which out of all these products listed, helped the most–but it felt gross to leave it for 24 hours) in an attempt to re-moisturize my hair–with less than impressive results. Basically my hair went from looking like cheap extensions that were always tangled to feeling and looking like hay. I was close to tears, and every morning when I brushed my hair, I dreaded hearing that sound of the hairbrush ripping through knots and breaking my hair. I was prepared to pay any amount of money to get my hair fixed, because I just couldn’t do anything with it and was starting to think I was going to have to cut off a good portion of my hair! I was reading a bunch of reviews on Amazon trying to find another conditioner or detangler to try when I came across the Cowboy Magic line and saw that some reviews had been using these products on themselves or their children. I decided to give it a go– and wow, this stuff is nothing short of AMAZING! The whole line is really great–although I notice the biggest difference with the conditioner and the detangler. When I put the conditioner in my hair, I can feel the knots loosing up immediately. I leave it in for about 3 minutes and wash it out. I apply the detangler before I comb my hair, and I’m really impressed with this stuff! My experience has been that I can’t put too much of the detangler in my hair–the stuff goes in feeling really oily, but then my hair absorbs it and there is no heavy slick or feeling greasy–even by the next day! My hair stays tangle free and looking amazing. The first day of using the detangler, I applied about 4 times more than the directions recommended, and just couldn’t believe how soft and managable my hair was. I was afraid to get too excited about it, as I kept thinking that maybe my hair was just having a positive reaction to a new product and would go back to being dry and fried in a few days. After three days of using these products, my hair is about 95% to 98% improved. It has been about 2 weeks now, and I honestly can’t believe the results. I am a customer for life.

My bay girly has very very thick hair she always gets knots and has some sort of debris in her hair. You’d think she’s banging her head to heavy metal all day long. Anyways I’m really glad I got this product because she had some serious knots that were starting to dread I thought I was going to have to cut some. Nope! This stuff was great I used probably 5 nickel sized bloops and worked in sections. I like how it’s a squeezy bottle because she gets a little jumpy with sprays. The 4 oz bottle seems like it will last a long while.

I have 3 huskies , 2 being wooly, and their back ends tend to get “tangled” and can get matted VERY quickly if not brushed every other day , this stuff does wonders ! It makes it sooo much easier to brush them! They don’t like being brushed because it pulls on their hair but this easily untangles their hair and works way better then any spray I have used in the past.

In the past when I had animals I used this product to groom , especially if they had matted hair or burrs.
I always used it on my hair also, not because of matts just because it made my hair feel lovely and soft. If you used a hairdryer and wanted to style it also it works very well.

I bought this for a couple reasons. I wanted to use this on my dog who had tons of mats. I was hoping this would help me work them out of his hair. It worked okay for this purpose but not sure it really did anything. It could have been I didn’t use enough but it really didn’t do what I wanted. The other reason I got this was to use on my daughter’s hair. She has very long, wavy hair. Every morning and every evening, it’s always been a struggle to brush her hair. As soon as we’re done getting all the tangles out, she has more. I used this on her hair for a week and it seemed like brushing was much easier to get tangles out. I was worried it would give her hair a greasy look but it really didn’t even though a couple times I used a pretty good amount. She likes how shiny it makes her hair and I think it also makes it softer. We’ll continue to use and hope that with continued use, brushing her hair will not be so painful.

Cowboy Magic Detangle & Shine really helped me work through the matting, it is a slick product that truly does not leave residue behind. I found myself having to reapply the product but I was also dealing with severe matting. I don’t know how but I feel the product helped potentially dissolve the build up within the matts making them easier to penetrate and untangle with the brush. I now have a matt free little guy, with little hair that needed to be cut out, who feels much better! His fur is also so soft and smells great! A little bit of this product goes a long way!
