I’m not gonna lie. I may have missed in the description that this doesn’t come with developer. It’s just one tube of color. This is meant for salon use. You must get your own developer. So I just to a bottle out of another old dye I had. Mixed them and dyed my hair. It turned out more pink than purple. I would not buy this again cuz I’m not a hairdresser in a salon. Just beware no developer.

What they don’t tell you prior is that you need developer on hand, so it is kind of half bleaching.
The colour came out more of a red than purple or “violet” as advertised on the box.
Same complaint as most others here.

I’ve been using the L’Oréal dark to red for years now and have always had great results. I wanted to try something new colorwise and so glad I picked the intense violet,it’s so beautiful! I love how this formula doesn’t hurt my hair and really does lift and deposit the color as promised. I use a 30 vol developer and had a year of out growth since I last dyed my hair so it was mostly virgin. I normally use a 20vol for root touch ups.

I needed to freshen up my grape colored hair but my roots were growing in a dark blonde this time and I wanted to give my hair a break from bleaching. I saw this permanent hair color that didn’t require lifting my roots and was “true violet” so I decided to give it a try. What a mistake! Not only did it fail to color my roots, but now all of my hair save the little bit at the very front that I didn’t put color on is now a horrible, drab, ugly shade of medium-dark brown. It’s so ugly! There isn’t a hint of purple in any shade (it was supposed to be violet) anywhere in my hair. Now my hair feels dry and crummy too. I normally love L’Oreal products, but this one was a huge mistake. I can’t wait to color over it!

I have dark hair, so you know it’s difficult to get bright colors without bleaching. I purchased this brand on a whim and was very happily surprised. I have purchased in 2 colors and purchased multiple boxes. I have been using for the last 9 mos or so and am very happy with the end result. The red are brighter than the violets, but I love both!!

I am a certified hairstylist but currently live in a community with little access to professional products for my hair. I only mention this so you know when I tell you its crap, its not because I didn’t know what I was doing. I am sooo disappointed with this colour, I had even tried searching it ahead of time. Does all the damage of a colour with dull and quickly fading results.

looked like it was going to have a strong purple pigment to put over my already magenta hair (same brand, Hi color in magenta) on the tips. Even with careful preparation and application according to my hair type, condition, pre color treatment/sealing conditioner after, water filter and temp to ensure color wasn’t going to be affected it or bleed out. Dark brownish at best.
