I have curly hair and i relax the hair to grow it out. I have used many types of relaxers but i have never in my life met a relaxer as this where i used petroleum jelly vasoline to cover the areas to protect the burning. This box doesnt come with any protecting jelly. You have to have your own! I covered the ears, forehead, like a crown, covered all the spots i know. I had a feeling the relaxer was gonna have a delay when washing it out. Meaning by the time you wash it out it will still be in the hair so around 9 minutes i was suppose to wait 12 but i did it early and soon enough it took about 3 minutes or so to remove the relaxer but suddenly the areas that had the vasoline which was still on started to burn mad crazy. I was like WHAT!? WHY. I had the stuff on! So i washed it fast and quick, i was fine but it burned like crazy and i have used at least 5 different relaxers and never had that problem. The stuff that you apply to your hair, the relaxer, it had something different than the others which made the protected areas that had the vasoline just not even matter. I washed it out and it was still burning but not where it was too serious. My hair and skin was ok but had a chemical burn from this. I will never again buy this and i advice anyone to avoid this product because ive done this since the 90s and this is my first time ever running into a product that one, didnt come with the protective jelly, and two you had to buy your own, and three burn even following the directions. It worked but it was too strong, stronger than the others but the others did a better job. It straightened my hair but still made the back of my hair wavy curly and i made sure i applied enough of it. Because i had to wash it out early, i knew this was something that wasnt normal so i washed it early and quick, 9 minutes not 12. Stay away from this one. I recommend going to sallys beauty supply if you have one in your City.
