Product works very well for short hair. I’ve been hoping to find a brush that contacts the scalp to help with my dermatitis. Most brushes lay on top of the hair or have widely spaced teeth and a large head designed for long hair. This one has nice finely spaced teeth- the bristles aren’t too soft or hard and it actually works down through the hair to the scalp. Could have used this years ago!

Easy to clean the hair out by rinsing under water, the bristles on the brush feel great on the scalp and the brush is thin enough to style hair precisely. Definitely a great purchase.

As others have said, this brush is not great and definitely not representative of the Kent brand. The bristles are very stiff with almost no “give” to them. It takes almost all volume out of the hair and left my hair looking very flat. I purchased a KareCo 9-row styling brush to replace this one and have enjoyed it much more at half the price. The KareCo bristles have more flex to them and also have a removable head that can be cleaned in a dishwasher.

This brush is great for long hair. My hair is about 3ft. There are NO balls on the ends of the bristles so your hair does not get stuck in them or tangle further. No worrying about some tips falling off after time and scraping your scalp. The bristles are short and firm, but not too firm. It has just enough give so it makes brushing through wet (or dry) long hair a much simpler task. Many “wet hair” brushes have too much give for long hair and brushing is a chore. Small, light, not bulky, travels well, cleans great and I LOVE it.

I did a search on Amazon for brushes to comb in hair gel and this brush came up. I’ve been using combs to to comb it in and I didn’t like the lines so I bought this brush. It works perfect and looks much better without the line. Also I use Layrite Cement Cream which is VERY thick and hard to comb in even with a comb! This brush will comb it in even though it takes a few times because it’s so thick. Regular hair gels it will comb it in no problem on the first try. I only talk about the Layrite to show that the brush is very strong yet very soft on your scalp. It simply works as designed!

I used to use a boar bristle round brush. This has the advantage of being usable to aid in drying my hair with a hairdryer. Even when I use a fiber / wax I can still use this to style my hair without any issues or discomfort. Its somewhat small, but gets the job done. The issues I had with my old brush is that it would not allow a messy look. With this, I can still comb my hair and if I want, keep the messed up look Im shooting for. It also gives a picture perfect hair style if thats what your looking for too. This is easy to keep clean and thats another big plus.
UPDATE: I’ve had this 3 years and it still looks new. No bent bristles or discoloration. Pomade, gel or wax– all are easy to style with this bush. It doesn’t accumulate much hair since the bristles are well spaced. I have very thick wavy hair and have had no issues with this. I noticed Kent makes a slightly larger version of this, but I don’t think I’d need it. This is one of those rare items you buy that lasts a lifetime. I’m updating this review since I realized today I lost a Kent all fine pocket comb. Kent has gained a lifetime customer.
Only issue I’ve had is my wife sometimes uses this.
