I have very thick, course hair and so I need these heavier duty hair clips. Used to buy this style at Target but they stopped carrying them…so of course I turned to Amazon. These are even stronger! They work great and look great and I got a ton of them at a good price!

I just received these and was excited to get them. I was sadly disappointed when I opened them to discover that the did NOT have any grip dots on them. I specifically asked prior to purchasing these to confirm and was told, by the seller, that they did in fact have the grip dots on them. The description also states they have grip dots.
MY hair is VERY fine and straight. These are nice and comfortable, but in the 15 minutes that I have been wearing one, all of my hair has fallen out of the clip. I’m hoping to exchange these for what I actually ordered. Otherwise, I’m returning them! I will update my review once resolved.
Also, other reviews mentioned bent or defective clips. I went through the entire pack and only 2 of them are bent. Which makes sense base on the way they are packaged. All 25 clips are stuffed into a box that is about 4″x3″x1/2″. So, maybe the seller or manufacturer should consider better packaging to prevent damage.
Overall, if you have thick, coarse, or curly hair, these will probably work. But if you have fine straight hair, without the grip dots, forget it!
UPDATE: Increased from 2 stars to 3 stars. After going through the entire pack and discarding about 7 or 8 of them due to not clipping tightly, or being bent beyond repair, the remaining clips do actually hold quite tightly even though they do not have grip dots. As stated above, my hair is very fine and very straight and these do hold. The main reason I only gave 3 stars instead of 4 stars (the 5th star is long gone due to the number of defective clips in the package) is that they are very tight and somewhat difficult to clip. Not a major issue for myself, but could be a potential issue if using these for a child.

So I needed an upgrade from the Conair silver metal clips because I’ve been sporting a hairstyle that needed to stay in place. I was working for a general contractor and sometimes, stuff would bump my head and pull said clips. Well I no longer work with them but I still wear my hair in a style I’ve not seen, but my sides can get too thick for those small clips. These beasts not only hold it in place but they hold more hair than the others. I needed 4 of the other clips but only had 3 for the other side and nobody seems to sell strictly silver Conair brand clips anymore so that I could restock. They’re always painted black or in a colorful array of them. I’m 42. I didn’t want anything that would eventually have the paint chip off and I don’t do bright colors much anymore. I highly recommend, but I think 2 is still needed if you’re looking to clip back both sides. It’ll keep them in place throughout the day. I would recommend and buy again but unless I lose them over time, I think they’ll last a good while so you probably won’t need replacements.
