This stuff is like voodoo magic. I have ridiculously fine and porous hair that gets weighted down easily by hair product, even those that are supposedly the holy grail for fine hair. I am not sure why I bothered trying yet another one, but I am so glad I did! It’s heat activated, so I dried my hair upside down for a bit, using fingers to add light tension and hold roots out and away from scalp while drying. Then finished by styling as usual. Hair was not crunchy, had hold but still lots of natural movement, and didn’t appear to lose much volume throughout the day.
Not only was the end result notably improved fullness, but it also helped tame the frizzies, which meant less time with the straight iron and less silicone-based finishing smoother in my hair to weight it down again [Note: If your hair likes to frizz like it’s trying to win a million dollar prize for frizziest hair on the planet, then give TIGI’s Bed Head After Party a try.]
For reference, my hair is cut in an angled bob with the back slightly above collar level and the front almost touching the collar bone. But I have the same struggles regardless of whether my hair is long or short, so this will likely also work in longer porous hair. (I keep saying porous because it’s really a thing…especially if you are a red head and have wondered if your hair is actively trying to sabotage you every time you pull the hair dryer out.) I think it would also work for non-porous hair…probably even better, since your hair won’t drink it up like you’ve just been on a 3-day bender in the desert.

Don’t forget your hair oils as it doesn’t add (maybe even takes) moisture to/from your hair. Volume lasts for days after you blow dry this in! My hair is so puffy but still easy to brush.

My hair IS fuller but has a frizzy look to it when I use this product. If you curl your hair this works but if you straighten your hair, it may not give you the results you want.

My hair finally has volume! Yay. I have tried all the other things that promised to give me volume. Blah! This one really works. If anything I have to tamp the volume down a bit! Downside is that it expensive on Amazon and can be bought for between $5 and $10 cheaper elsewhere.
