They’re a bronze type brown color. Comes with a plastic case once you unpack it from the plastic package cover. The case has a slide off top. When you slide it off it comes completely off. There’s nothing much that will keep the lid on when your unlocking. There is a snap thst holds it on once youclose it so no concern so far of all of them falling out during storage, just dont lose it after unlocking. I’m just glad it came with a case frankly. Cause otherwise it would have gone in a snack ziplock baggie and who wants that. The Bobby pins slide on easily in my hair. Comes with enough pins for an event and can easily toss the while case in my purse if I feel I might need backup.

As a parent of a dancer who typically buys bobby pins in the 720-pack (and yes, bobby pins end up EVERYWHERE…the car, floor, bathroom, sink drain, etc.), I’m always on the lookout for more bobby pin options. This Amazon Basics set of pins, a 72-pack for $4.80, are on the more expensive ends, even across Amazon. They DO seem to be decent quality, with good spring and retention against deformation, so time and testing will tell how well they might hold up relative to the far less expensive options.
One big plus is the little box these come in. I was initially ready to toss it out upon first opening it since it looks like a cheap plastic box with a pull-off lid. Instead, it has a decent sliding opening that makes it far less likely for a dropped box to launch bobby pins everywhere. Still, even the listing urges trying these if you like another brand…and yet that other brand is still 25% less expensive.
So overall, what you get are bobby pins that, so far, seem to be good quality, but at a premium price over the competition. I will update this review if these turn out to be somehow significantly better quality over time with use.

I can’t tell you how adorable this little case is. These can fit anywhere, your drawer, your purse, your gym bag and the case slides to open or shut. I always thought a Bobby pin was a Bobby pin…..not true. These bobby-pins have a wide opening at the top so you don’t rip your hair as it is going in and the Bobby pin itself is tight. The hold is great and I have used the same pins for a few days. Super impressed. These should be part of Oprah’s favorite things!

These are great standard bobby pins – wide opening so they don’t pull your hair when you put them in, but tight enough that they actually hold your hair in place and don’t slide around on your head. But really, my favorite feature of these is the case they come in. It’s so handy and convenient to be able to throw these in any bag or purse and bring them with you whenever you need them. Love these and will definitely be buying more.
