So, I tried out the GIOVANNI L.A. Hold Styling Gel – Strong Hold, and it’s a bit of a rollercoaster. First off, it does the job – keeps your hair on point and looking fly. But here’s the kicker – the next day, it’s like my hair declared a no-move zone.
With my usual eco gel, I wake up with my hairstyle still intact. But with GIOVANNI, it’s a different story. Your hair’s stuck in whatever shape you slept in, and it’s not budging until you give it a proper wash. Feels a bit like that lady who used gorilla glue – a style that’s here to stay!
So, if you’re all about that rock-solid hold, GIOVANNI delivers. Just be ready for the ‘hair lockdown’ vibe until you hit the shower.

Finde das Produkt sehr gut zum stylen von Locken. Ich habe es nur im Nasszusstand aufgetragen und dann mit dem Föhn difused. Meine Haare waren danch nicht mehr so puffi und in alle Richtungen sondern definiert. Ich habe relativ viel Gel immer benötigt, habe aber auch dicke und viele Haare. Produkt hat trotzdessen sehr lange gehalten. Meins ist jetzt leer gegangen und ich bestell mir das styling Gel nach. Ich kann es nur emphehlen.

My hair is prone to getting frizzy as I live in Florida- have tried many many products- this one holds the curls the best. It does tend to dry out my hair which is the only negative. I will continue to use it- only a small amount is needed and the price is right.

I only use hard holding gel for my curly hair and this is one of my top 5. I have not experienced any drying or flaking and the price is great. I also use their Tea Tree shampoo & conditioner. I’ve pretty much tried almost every curly line out there and only a few I will repurchase, especially when you compare the benefits to the price. A $30 gel from a popular brand CS, did not come close to holding. Also great size, not a mini/travel like other brands.

My fine wavy hair can not handle glycerine in the humid south East! It causes my hair to absorb all the humidity and get frizzy. This gel is perfect for this season, perfect hold and still has movement! Texture and smell are fine, really great quality and great price point!!

I have mostly white, curly hair. I have been looking for a new gel because I can no longer find the gel I’ve used in the past. Giovanni LA Hold Styling get has a nice scent and a very strong hold. It is also cruelty free, which is very important to me. It’s also vegan and doesn’t use several ingredients that are harmful to hair.
One thing I don’t like about this gel is that it is described online as using a recyclable container but the container shows that the container’s recycling category is 4. While that technically recyclable, most recycling services, including the service used by my city, only recycle plastics in categories 1, 2, and sometimes 5. For that reason, the container is functionally not recyclable in my city.

I was searching for a new product to use for my curls, especially in this heat! My old product, Twist by Ouidad, no longer sells the light hold gel that I loved. This product was affordable AND feels amazing on my curls. I usually put a small drop on my hand and mix with a little water to lighten the amount of hold I want. It smells subtle but nice and clean, I even smelled it the next day after a full night of sleeping with my curls up. I only needed to dampen my curls a bit with some water in my hands to reactivate it, but I also added a tiny bit more for a fresher look and to tame any frizz I had. The hold is wonderful for the humidity, and I like that I can easily use a little more water to lighten the hold. Overall it is easy to use/portion, and performs well. I didn’t get a good enough photo because I’m at work right now, but I HAD to review this from how happy I was. It also added some volume to my hair and didn’t weigh down any of my curls and no stickiness!!

I bought this gel hoping to find a cost effective replacement for my beloved Innersense gel. Imagine my surprise when it worked better! It has a strong enough hold to create a nice curl cast but is lightweight enough that I don’t sacrifice volume. The texture of the gel is smooth and not too sticky. The scent is light and floral. My curls come out fluffy but not frizzy, and can easily be brought back to life (I’m on day 3 hair right now and going strong). I will be buying again!
