I tried out the curling iron to see if it would work for me. It will do for travel, but is not as good as a full size curling iron for regular use. It was easy to use, and compact for travel to places without electricity.

Many years ago I had a couple Conair butane curling irons. I loved them! Used them regularly.
Currently on a road trip and left my usual iron at home. Instead of going to Target and buying another cheap curling iron, I decided to find something cordless, that I could leave in my car to use strictly for traveling.
I received this yesterday while at my son’s house. I opened it and, though it is quite a bit smaller than the previous Conairs I had, it had a case and I thought it would be great for traveling! I turned it on and it started right away, and I used it…..once. This morning I have been trying and trying to light it, start it, and it just does not respond. Then I started writing this one star negative review. While it was being processed by Amazon, I figured out that there is an “on” switch and a “start” switch. It started yesterday when I turned it on, which I guess it wasn’t supposed to. When I found the “start” switch, it came on and I am really happy!
I’m glad I found the problem was me before it was posted!
This will work well for me I’m sure!!!!!

It does nice curls and it gets hot. It’s very small, so you can only do little tight curls.

I have one of these that’s over 20 years old and love it. It’s been all over the country with me! Wanted a second one to leave at the office but the one I got won’t ignite. Amazon forced me to Conair to cover it under warranty – they initially said that they didn’t cover items sold by 3rd parties. When I pointed out that it was from them themselves they asked for me to “destroy the product by cutting off the cord, and sending them a photo, and they’d replace”. Before I could do that they said never mind they’d send the replacement but it never arrived. Would give it 5 stars if it actually worked!

Update: Conair has not replaced the broken part and continues to give me the run around. Never expected it from them

  5. Ordered blue earrings with yellow words stating Michigan…got solid yellow u of m earrings…not in a box.. earrings looked like they got stepped on.. surprised they were ok

To my happy surprise it’s one of my favorite curling irons I have doesn’t get too hot doesn’t harm your hair it’s wonderful and very portable

Curling iron works great. Easy to handle and great for travelling.

I had trouble getting this to heat up after reading and following the directions. I could hear something happening, but no heat. Eventually, it did work. There seems to be no way to actually return rbis. This is small and cheap. It’s not brilliant but it did heat.

I had an older version of the Conair butane curler that was great for years, but was sometimes fussy to get on. I decided to try this one because it was more compact. Don’t waste your money. You are lucky to get it started after twenty clicks, but most times it just never turns on. Going back to the one that is ten years old.

Exactly what I needed. I don’t travel anymore, but I couldn’t stand holding curling irons that had to be plugged in, were too long, and too heavy to hold. I kept hitting my head with the curling iron. This travel size is very easy to hold, quick to heat up, and does the job. Great buy!

I just ordered 2 two-packs of the Conair butane cartridges, so that I won’t have to worry of running out of gas for a long time.

For travel or just sharing a bathroom with others. You can curl your hair anywhere. This comes in so Handy!!! It heats up quickly & does a great job. The best part NO plug needed. Plus it comes in a handy little case.

  11. Rochelle Fogg

Great for the small runaway locks that I have to fix to have a smooth hairdo, I would not recommend it if you have a whole head to do because of butane expense. Cords are so hard to use and long wands are hard to navigate. This little guy is so perfect for touch-ups.

  12. Amazon Customer

I thought this would be the perfect solution for a trip in the Himalayas, where I wouldn’t have to worry about adapters and converters. It was delivered promptly, it comes in a handy, compact case (great for travelling) I tested it when it arrived and it worked. But that’s pretty much the end of the good news. it worked the first morning of the trip and then died. I contacted Conair and they said it’s not fixable and the only option is to fill out a warranty form. If you’re thinking this is a good option for a trip – don’t count on it!

This little curling iron does an awesome job, and the curls actually stay in for a few days. My hair is super straight and usually curls stay for a couple hours, but this little iron puts them there for a couple days. Love it.
