  • Spreads easily throughout hair
  • Makes detangling a breeze
  • Gently cleanses hair and scalp
  • TIPS: Make sure to detangle completely during either the shampoo step or the conditioning step, while the hair is soaking wet and saturated with the product you are using. Detangle with a wide toothed comb or, if you prefer, a paddle brush. Only after detangling should you proceed to the final rinse. While shampooing, keep hair in a smooth downward alignment as you lather. Doing otherwise, (bunching, scrubbing, vigorous scrunching, etc.), may cause extensive tangling.

Not sure if it’s just a “love it or hate it” sort of thing, but I think this product not only works well, but I thought the scent was really nice! I saw a lot of negative feedback about the scent being unpleasant and I was admittedly a little concerned, but I was happy to find that I liked the scent (which is a mix of various ingredients, a little citrus, coconut, etc), and that even though it is marketed for curly hair, it works fine on my straight fine hairtype. Many of these products are aiming at people with thick curly hair, which I totally understand can be hard to manage… but even those of us with straight hair still have problems when using traditional shampoos.

My hair is very fine, and when I still used shampoo, I had a vicious cycle of dry frizz that usually led to using some sort of conditioning spray or styling product, and by the second post-shampoo day my hair was just limp, flat, and starting to feel very dirty. When I switched to regular conditioner only, I was able to go a few days without needing to cleanse my hair, but I still felt like the conditioner didn’t really get it clean enough. That’s where this product really made a difference for me. It’s gentle enough that I can use it daily without worrying about stripping my hair of moisture (which was why I stopped using regular shampoo), but it cleans much better than trying to use only regular conditioner. I haven’t used many other products of this category, but I can definitely works for me as a cleansing conditioner and I thought it was very affordable compared to other products I was considering.

This is my boyfriend’s favorite cowash brand by far. He has been using it for years. Even after trying other products when he runs out of this, he always goes back to this brand and uses this brand nearly exclusively. It has a nice effect on his hair without weighing it down or adding a weird coating or texture to his hair. He loves that the most. The product lasts a decently long time since it is such a big container. That helps, the product is super easy to use while showering. It helps relieve tangles. It also smells good too which is a plus. I can also use it too as I too have curly hair and it is a great product in my opinion.

I HATE to wash my hair. I mean, I hate it. I have a lot of very fine hair. Very thick and wavy, but fine. It takes about 45 minutes to dry it and because it is so fine and (did I mention) dry (oh, and how about damaged from coloring) it gets frizzy frizzy frizzy. This is of course not helped by the fact that I live in Arizona where the air itself is dry and frizzy! Anyways – all that has changed since I used this wonderful product. I had read a review in the NY Times about co-shampoos in general and thought maybe I would like them. Then I came on here and checked out the reviews and after reading quite a few on quite a few different brands bought this one. Look! Five stars! After only ONE shampoo (co-shampoo?) everything I hated about washing my hair changed. I could tell the minute I started drying it that there was a difference. First of all – it took less than half the time to dry! I figure all that time I spent before was spent on drying the detergent that was in my hair – not on drying my actual hair. Second of all, this product actually enhanced my waves – making them luscious and almost even curly — soooo easy to style. Just shake and bake! Also it left my hair very, very shiny. And NO FRIZZ. I was concerned that the softness that people mentioned in their reviews meant “lank” – but it doesn’t. My hair is actually soft AND thick AND wavy/curly AND shiny AND not frizzy AND I LOVE IT!!! Boy am I sold. I am also very impressed with the price on this particular product as compared to others. Yes. It does have a coconut smell coming out of the jar – but I didn’t notice it once I put a towel around my head. And yes, I did have to use about three “handfuls” of product – (I used enough to make my hair feel like I could run my fingers through it – and remember, I have a LOT of long fine hair – so I maybe had to use more than somebody else) and I thought I might need another jar every 3-4 washes – but I don’t care. It is so totally worth the money! This is definitely a keeper for me. I am thrilled. Lauren Bacall, here I come! (Does anybody on Amazon even remember Lauren Bacall??!!!) LOL!!
