   This is a bit heavy for finer, low-porosity waves and curls. Weighs down my hair quite a bit, even if I only leave it on for 2-3 minutes. The scent is alright, the texture is nice, but it kills my curl pattern, so it’s a no from me

   I purchased “Don’t Despair, Repair!” from the briogeo website a week prior to this order because that hair mask is WONDERFUL. When I saw that they ship with amazon & were participating in prime day, I waited to get the curly mask (I’ve never tried it and wanted to, but wasn’t $39 sure— $24 tho? sure!). Anyway, this order came with a small clear sticker on the side “sealing” the jar (not present on the official briogeo order) as well as dried product on the amazon label and the exterior rim of the jar. The product seal Briogeo includes (plastic with pull tab on top of the product side of the container) is stuck to the lid, again, with dried product. There were other objects in this amazon order & none of them have product on them leading me to infer that this is NOT an issue that arose during transit.

   In contrast, the order from Briogeo’s website came in a box secured with packing materials, the product cover on top (not the lid, but the seal) was almost a little difficult to remove in a way that indicated it had been intentionally placed there & was doing its job, and of course, not a spot of dried product anywhere.

   I’m not sure if I received a returned item or what, but this product certainly wasn’t delivered per the standards Briogeo has set forth, and I can’t say I’ll be ordering it from amazon again, nor would I recommend anyone else do so. The primary draw to ordering from Amazon was the faster shipping, but as prices are exactly the same & the quality is decidedly not… I’ll simply be adding this mask to my Briogeo subscription instead (they have a points/reward system over there, y’all!)

   I tried this while looking for a replacement for Amika Soul Food. It sounded so promising, so I was hopeful, but it’s actually AWFUL on my hair. It left it MORE dry and frizzy. Caucasian 2C-3A.

   Products that actually work for curls are hard to find. My hair is relatively thin but very curly. These products are great! Not heavy. Enhances the curls.

   I have very coarse, wavy/slightly curly hair that’s low porosity. I’ve been following the “Curly Girl” method for a little over 10 years. I bought this after a friend suggested how much she loved it. When I used it, it made my hair feel dry and coarse, and my waves flattened out. Definitely not for me, but my friend loves it so I gave the remainder to her. (She has very porous and thin curls.)

   I received a sample of this in a subscription box and fell in love! This stuff is great for my curls. My only complaint is the small amount you get for the price.

   I’ve been simplifying my wash day routine, and wanted a conditioner that would have good slip and moisturize my hair. My curls are moisturized and defined with this leave in. The smell is not overwhelming either.

   It is pricey, but it’s nice to have it in my collection.
