This is a nice, helpful product for dry scalp. Dry scalp is not dandruff. This is quite expensive though.

I have struggled with what I thought was dandruff my whole adult life. I have paid hundreds for all the shampoos, from the expensive and fancy to the harsh and medicinal. I’ve put vinegar on my head. I even went to the dermatologist to see if I had some kind of condition. None of it worked. I finally had a stylist tell me that it isn’t dandruff, my scalp is just dry. I started using conditioner by the fistful, which helped with the dryness, but left my hair feeling greasy – traded one problem for another. Then I found this. I washed my hair, parted it, put this on, and felt such an immediate sense of relief that I actually yelled “seriously, this is all I needed?” and them grabbed my phone to gush about it to my best friend. I love this. I can’t believe how non-itchy my scalp is now. I don’t even notice my scalp anymore, in the best way. It doesn’t weigh my hair down, it smells great, and oh man, the relief from the itching. And wow, no flakes…can I get a lifetime supply, please?

Helps to soothe dry scalps effectively; with continued use it prevents the occurrence of dryness that can cause itchiness and/or discomfort. I have fine hair, yet this product did not leave any greasy residue as most other similar products do. My scalp feels more comfortable and appears healthier since using this product in addition to my existing scalp and hair care routine. I will purchase this product again.

I’ve used literally everything you can imagine for my dry, flakey scalp, and nothing has helped. Some things actually made it worse. This is great. It took a couple of weeks to really start working, but it’s working really well now. I only use it maybe 3x/week. And the smell is amazing. Idk what it reminds me of, but I wish I could pinpoint it and buy whatever lotion or body spray it was I used to use that smelled like this.

I’ve had scalp issues for as long as I can remember. I’ve seen many dermatologists, tried countless OTC products as well as prescription ointments, oils, and shampoos. Some of these things have helped briefly. Most of them either did nothing or actually made my scalp worse. This Living Proof ointment has by far been the most reliable. It’s always soothing to the scalp, and, as other people have said, it smells great. I wish I could use it every day but they recommend 3x per week. I’ve only been using this for a few weeks now but I’m anxious to see if my scalp improves over the long term. Initially though, I have to say I love this.

I’ve tried all types of products to help with flakiness, itchiness, irritation, etc. Wasn’t sure if it was dry scalp or dandruff so I was definitely experimenting for a minute. Nothing truly relieved all of it for more than a day after using, even medicated shampoos.. nada. I stayed consistent using this at least once or twice a week and after a month I really noticed improvements in all areas 🙌 When I say I was flakey, I mean I could graze my hand over the top of my head lightly and it’d look like snow falling. I didn’t know what was going on but it was becoming really frustrating with my scalp being constantly irritated and white flakes everywhere in which I couldn’t escape. So when I noticed the slightest improvement I was thrilled!
As for the product itself: There is a scent, I personally think it smells so so good! I don’t think it lingers very long though, especially it being applied only to your scalp so thats a plus for those who may not like the smell but sees benefits to the product itself. I will say to make sure you really rub it into your scalp because if you miss a spot or don’t spread it out thoroughly, it will feel a bit greasy once your hair dries. Otherwise it doesn’t leave any type of greasy residual feeling to your hair, as long as you make sure to rub it in fully 👍 A bottle lasts me usually a few months. The way I apply it is down the middle, 2 spaced out lines going back on each side of the middle, lines above the ears to meet in the back, & then two more lined sections across going down towards the base of my hairline. I always apply it right after showering, its easier to navigate while hair is still pretty wet in my opinion. The only times I see flakes or am itchy now is when its been days (ranging from 3-7) of no hair washing, if I aggressively scratch my scalp, or if I’ve sweat a lot. I do have some psoriasis & while it obviously doesn’t cure that, it relieves the itch tremendously along with my overall dry scalp. It is much more controlled, rarely bothers me anymore.
It is pricey but for me its so worth it with the lack of flakes and irritation its brought me. This product is the only thing that has actually worked for me after at least 2 years worth of trying out other options so if you’re willing to be consistent to use it at least once a week for a period of time, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try!

I was inspired by all of the great reviews, but unfortunately, this turned out to be not so great for my scalp. When I first began to use it, I used it incorrectly (based on the illustrations), and the results were good. I didn’t necessarily have scalp issues, but I wanted to boost scalp moisture, so I applied it to my dry hair as a pre-poo and then shampooed it off. When I finally read the instructions, I washed my hair, then applied it to my scalp and left it in. Within hours, red, angry bumps appeared on my scalp. I should have washed it out right away, but it was already way past my bedtime when it happened, and I didn’t want to have to get back in the shower or wake up my household making lots of noise.
I went to bed, and by morning more bumps appeared on my scalp.
I was hoping I could add this to my hair care routine because of the decent start, but I’m returning it to Amazon instead.
Really disappointed in this outcome. Did not work for me when used as directed.
