I bought the caramel shade. I was hoping it would cancel out the blue tones in my highlights and give me a caramel color. I can say that it does a great job leaving a caramel tone over highlighted hair.
I shampooed my hair in the shower, then towel dried it and put the conditioner on and left it for 10 mins then rinsed it off and got a great tone. It did not fully cover the blue but it did cover them slightly. I loved the caramel color and I think it looks very even if you comb through it while it’s in your hair.
My only complaint was that it arrived looking busted and like it had been used before.

My natural hair colour is a dishwater blonde. Went to hairdresser for highlights, asked for a warm, buttery, honey blonde and instead got a cool, ashy platinum that washed me out. This toner turned it right around, and now I have the colour I wanted all along!
I used the Caramel on towel dried hair the first time for about 8 minutes. It gave my hair a warmer, golden tone that was soft and well-conditioned. I had no issues with colour staining my hands or skin. The second time, I used it for only 5 minutes and the colour is perfect. There is a hint of a ‘peachy’ tone on a couple of highlighted sections, so I will be careful not to use it too frequently or for too long. Overall very satisfied. It saved me an expensive return trip to the salon! Would recommend.

I bought this in the red copper color. I’m a natural redhead but my hair got a bit too blond this summer in the sun and I missed the vibrance it had before.

I added a before and after—these were taken 1 week apart. I applied the product and left it on for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. I applied it to only slightly damp hair. I think if your hair is too wet it won’t take as well, but that’s conjecture based on other reviews. I didn’t have trouble with it not looking even, so I’m not sure why others had that problem. I think if your hair is mostly dry, it’s easier to see where you’ve applied it. This is after a second wash so the color does last, though I imagine by the fourth wash I’ll need to refresh it.

I don’t recommend if your current hair color is too light—that’s how you’ll see some reviews that didn’t get the results they wanted. You can see that it didn’t darken my hair, it colored the natural shade that was there. The color you start with is going to impact how this comes out!

The product smells decently and it comes out an orange gel almost. Don’t spill it on your counter or tub, it will stain if you don’t wipe it off! It did not stain my hands but I’ve seen others say it stained theirs. I washed my hands immediately after applying.

I have been bleaching my hair for years. I have used color deposit toners before. Some work better than others. I decided to try this brand and the first time I left it on for 10 minutes. I didn’t see any results. I tried it again and left it on for an hour. And absolutely nothing. I don’t have issues with absorbing color. My hair is porous and in relatively good condition considering it’s recent bleaching. I wouldn’t expect it to work miracles but I would have liked to have seen just a hint of color.

Some people commented on the smell. I don’t feel like it’s the worst thing I’ve ever smelled but it isn’t necessarily pleasant. It reminded me of those little paints sets you would get as a kid. Where you mixed the water into the paste and painted with it. It had a non-toxic paint smell to it.

I wanted to love this because you can get several uses out of one bottle. And of course it is non-damaging and vegan but I just don’t have any positive reviews. Even the conditioning aspect wasn’t worth it. My hair still felt dry and in need of an additional conditioner. As you can see in the picture is it also left it looking flat without shine. My normal, nothing special to it conditioner, does a better job.

The color is vibrant and the product is easy to use. I would just caution buyers that the color continues to stain your hands blue even after a couple washes. My daughter had blue streaks down her neck and around her face. It does easily wash off your hands and did not stain my towels. We used some rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover on a cotton ball to take away the blue streaks on her neck. It did stain the white caulk around the bathtub.

I have natural white hair after growing out dyed hair.. Was a bit too white and after trying many many other things to tone it down a bit to a nice grey… Finally found this… Only left 5 mins as was a bit scared but will leave for 10 next time. All yellow gone and the lilac from purple shampoo gone too.. Just a nice mild grey hair which feels nice and soft.!

Although this says for colorered hair
I am transitioning out my grey
Didn’t like the white and dark contrast
This toner blends my white ( darkens the white ) and dark to look much more natural
    Loving it !!!😍

Former cosmetologist here. I like to use this product (in color chocolate) whenever I’m lazy. Is it as good as professional grade? Id say it’s a solid 70 percent.I really do love the way this product leaves your hair feeling afterwards.

I’ve read some of the poor reviews and I want people to understand that your results highly depend on your hair’s condition and current color. It specifically outlines this in atleast the chocolate color. I also want to keep in mind this is deposit only and does not penetrate your hair shaft. Toners don’t do that they sit ontop of your hair shaft the next step up would be a Demi permanent color which would lightly penetrate the shaft, a step up from that would be a semi permanent which would go in deeper than a Demi and finally the step up from that would be permanent hair color which would go all the way.

Another thing I saw in the reviews is people upset about their hair color not getting lighter. Color does not life color. If you want a lighter color the only way to achieve that is by lighting your hair with bleach (hair bleach PLEASE don’t use the cleaning solution) . After you’ve lightened your hair with bleach you can then put color on it and it’ll be a lighter version. That’s why you see there’s a chart on Amazon atleast on the chocolate which states the level your current hair is on the left (from blonde to dark brown) and what to expect it to look like on the right.

Separately hair porosity plays a big factor. If your hair is blonde but it feels super dry that means your hair follicles are lifted up so it feels coarse. This means that if you put the toner on it will absorb the color much deeply and quickly than a person without dry hair. So it you’re looking for a lighter version than you’ll need to process it for a shorter time. However for a toner clarifying shampoo or even detergent can brighten that up quick if you went too dark. I would just follow a deep conditioning treatment after doing something like that to counter it.

Now there were complaints about how long the color lasts. That too is dependent on a number of factors generally this should last 2 weeks. However it depends on the hair porosity, shampoo you’re using, how often you wash your hair any if you’re doing any conditioning treatments. To make the color last you should be using moisturizing shampoo and washing your hair every other day as well as doing weekly deep conditioning treatments and using a conditioner after your shampoo. The goal is to keep your cuticles down to prevent most of the color from washing out. If however you’re constantly washing your hair or you’re using clarifying shampoo it can come out very quickly especially with harsh shampoo
