I dye my hair once every 5 weeks. I’ve been doing this for 15+ years – I started going gray very early. As anyone who dyes their hair regularly knows, this takes a toll on your hair. Although I’m very careful (washing only once a week), sometimes my hair is just a little fried. My stylist recommended this to me before I did another full color transition. It’s easy to use – just put it in at night before you’re going to wash your hair – I then braid my hair – and sleep on it. It has a very pleasant smell (at least i think so) and then the next day, just wash and condition like normal! I do have a silk pillowcase, and always put a different pillowcase on the nights I use this – I have no idea if it would stain the silk – it doesn’t leave any residue on a normal pillowcase – but I didn’t want to take the risk. My stylist says it has really helped my hair!

I have tried a million products for curly hair so when I find one that actually WORKS, I take the time to review. This is how I use this. Wet my hair a little, use about 8 to 9 pumps of this stuff and work through my hair. I have long thick hair so you may use less. Set my hair in 4 sponge snap rollers on the top of my head and go to sleep. In the morning my curls are so beautiful and soft I can barely believe it. With other products, yes I have curls but they aren’t soft and bouncy. This stuff is amazing. No heavy perfume, no crispy ends, no gross build-up, just soft curls.

this works like other defy damage products of which I use. It made my hair soft and is easy to use however I would not say it did any better than the leave-in that I already use. I love joico and will use their products again but don’t think I will buy this again since I already use the leave in.
