It was exactly as described. I’ve only used it once so far, but worked well. I had another brand that I couldn’t get the interchangable plates off of and I returned that one. The interchangable plates go on and off easily on this one. The only thing I wish it would have come with a few clips.

This crimper is FANTASTIC!! The 3 choices of waviness are great and easy to change out. Although a bit on the heavy side, this crimper works SO well. The extra finger hold at the end of unit makes it super easy to make deep and beautiful crimps. This model is also wider(taller?) than other models lessoning the amount of time it takes to crimp the hair.
We bought a MBHAIR ceramic crimper prior to this purchase and had to return it. That product was too hot even on the lowest setting and too skinny!! It took forever to use the product and if you weren’t super exact with your styling it left visible sections in your hair. I believe that is because the unit is skinnier then the DSHOW crimper.
SO, BUY THIS CRIMPER….you will not be sorry. My high school daughter could not be happier with this product. Would totally recommend over any other products.

I bought this for a specific even that required old school crimped hair. Now my daughter and I use it whenever lol. It works great and we love that there are different size plates with it. She prefers the smallest, I prefer the mid size. Easy to use and fast results

Good for beginner. Just beware the plates can slide out if not put in correctly. Wearing heat glove is a MUST. Button in grip can turn up/off if pressed together when crimping, so be mindful.

I love this thing! I have fine, thin to medium long hair that can look flat and doesn’t hold curls very well. This crimper adds volume and texture like crazy! I have tried all three crimp plates so far, but not the straightener one yet. I have only used the second heat setting on myself (160C) and it really lasts. The photo is from crimping most of my hair with the 5 row plate the night before and sleeping on it. The texture remains until you wash it out. I’ve used the lower setting on my two girls and that holds as well. I like that I’m only having to hold the crimper shut for a second or two and achieving lasting results. I have been crimping the sections below my crown for volume and I love the look, but I also like to go nuts and crimp more! I’m finding that the added volume at the roots is allowing me to get one more day in between washes because my hair isn’t laying flat against my scalp, added unexpected bonus! I’m getting a heat protectant spray because I’m using this thing way more than I expected to.
Pros:
The crimper itself is sturdy and I love the interchangeable plates, this was my main reason for purchasing this particular iron.
The swivel cord is a must on any electric tool
Heats up quickly
Does not need to stay on (my) hair for more than a second or two and I don’t have to squeeze hard. (Crimp in small sections)
The wide plates allow me to get a lot done very quickly

The outer plastic cover slides that hold the metal plates in, “feel” like it could wear out quicker than I’d like. The slides edges (pictured) are a bit thin. I’m hoping that this is not the case because I am really enjoying this little crimper. Will update

I love the results, multiple plates, on/off button and different temp options. The con is, it gets hot, there is no protection on the colored part of the crimper, the whole crimper part gets hot (front, back, sides) and you can easily burn yourself if your fingers slip. There is a small tab at the very tip, that you can use to help hold the crimper and give it an extra squeeze, but even that can get warm. This is my only crimper so I have nothing to compare it too. The pattern holds for several days, I would have gone longer than 3 days but felt I needed to wash my scalp. Have used this twice and it gets better with ease each time. FYI cannot change the plates while hot, definitely wait till it cools down to switch out.
