I’ve literally tried pretty much everything on the market for hair gel. I’m a stickler for something strong that doesn’t make your hair look greasy or crusty.
That depends a lot on the application. If you put a bunch in your hand and rub it in all the way through your hair you’re likely going to get that result, but lightly applying a little bit of it, once it dries, will keep everything in place all day long and it doesn’t take much.
I usually buy several of these at a time off of Amazon to keep stock but the container size does last a long time if you know what you’re doing.

I have loose natural curly hair and this stuff is the only gel that holds my curls all day and doesn’t feel heavy like other products. It is easy to apply and the strength is so good I use a fraction of the amount of other products. You do have to take an extra moment to clean off your hands after application because of the strength of the gel, but that’s a minor inconvenience for all day hold. The smell is subtle and dissipates quickly after application. Love this gel!

I bought this for my husband when he was out of hair gel, and I use his gel for a slicked back look occasionally. I used a nickel amount in my hair and that night when I brushed my hair out, I couldn’t remove the white residue stuck in my hair. It was yucky and I would never order this gel again
