I have never bought anything like this before. I follow a Trichologist on IG who said she loved this gloss and she hasn’t steered me wrong yet; spoiler she still hasn’t. I wanted a gloss to help brighten it up and I wanted to dye my hair but I didn’t want commitment beyond the fall. I currently have a balayage and it took to my highlights and natural hair really well. I saturated my hair, left it on for 20 min. maybe 30! My initial thoughts were it smelt like hair dye and pretty chemically. Again never did this before, I expected more of a deep conditioner texture and smell, this did not turn me off though. I got dark brown and did NOT put gloves on. It will dye your skin! I got 90% of my using my body sugar scrub a few times over. I didn’t get any product on my scalp so I didn’t have any issues there. After I blow dried, I obviously had shiny healthy looking hair! I am in love with the way it looks. I do think I will be purchasing this gain and probably sooner then I thought because I like the color so much I might gloss my hair dark brown beyond they fall.

I have type 3C medium density & medium thickness hair shaft, healthy overall due to washing with filtered water once a week & only use Aveda & Curlsmith shampoo & deep convictioning treatment and leave-in conditioner. Used the gloss in dark brown once after shampooing (hadn’t washed for 4 days prior to application) as instructed & left on for the recommended 20 minutes. Rinsing was easy but did temporarily stain my bathtub and my scalp. My hair showed no conditioning or gloss effect in appearance and felt big as if due to hygral fatigue (swelling to the inner cortex). My hair felt brittle, dry, dull and just rough to the touch. Devastating outcome honestly as I’m trying to maintain hair health to grow it long. Application was on May 30, today is June 9 and my ends feel fried and my scalp has been irritated since colouring, maybe has to do with Propylene Glycol being the third highest ingredient in the product. It’s know to cause damage to protein in skin and hair and that’s why many manufacturers never add it these days especially to better quality products that appeal to those wanting safer more natural ingredients like Curlsmith and Aveda. I’ve used box color a few times in my 50 years and those have high lightner content and still never saw damage anywhere near what dpHue caused just from one single application. I think this product is 100% not suitable for anyone on a hair growth journey or anyone with high porousity hair or anyone who cares about maintaining the health and appearance and feel of healthy hair. I hope dpHue reviews these details to better improve their product and keep their clients safe.

I purchased the product due to the toner and the leave in conditioner aspect. The leave in was good, not great. The toner did not work at all which was disappointing. I have bleached hair and was hoping to tone the colour. Did not work for me despite instructions. Good for leave in but not so much for colour.

This is a pricey product compared to similar items on the market but the extra price is absolutely worth it.

My hair is naturally a light strawberry blonde but I wanted to punch it up a bit so I used the strawberry blonde gloss and it really looks beautiful imo. It also does give a nice deep conditioning treatment.

This product doesn’t create a dramatic colour change put it does give your hair a pop of colour.

I will definitely be adding this to my routine.

Okay, so I was really wanting to have darker hair again. However, I live in a really small town and don’t trust any of the hairdressers here to colour my hair. My sister, who is a professional hairdresser said that all I really needed was a glaze or gloss, I immediately went to Amazon, and looked through all the listing. This one stood out so I ordered a bottle. Got it super fast, before Amazon anticipated me receiving it. And immediately used it, the first photo, with my face in it, is what my hair looked like before, the second photo, where I’m holding my hair, is after using it while in the shower on damp hair, and I only had it in for 15 minutes, and the last photo is 3 days later when I decided to see if I could get it even darker. This time however, I put it on dry hair and let it sit for about 25 minutes before washing it out. I have always pulled warm, so I’m not even remotely surprised about the little bit of red in my hair, and I love it. One thing I will caution you about, I have a shower and white countertops and it did stain a little. With a bit of vigorous scrubbing I was able to get it out, but if you don’t want to have to deal with that, just cover up any visible surfaces. It looks like it will stain your skin, but it comes off when you apply water! Absolutely BUY this

I’ve had a gloss done professionally and I loved how it made my hair soft and blended my grays. I wanted to have it done again, but I was curious to try it at home and see if it would work. I just did it today and am happy with the results! You can see the before and after photos. My hair feels soft and healthy and my grays are less noticeable! I’m 27 and having a baby soon (so I’m not ready to be gray!) and am so happy to have found an affordable way to hide my grays without permanently coloring my hair! I only used about 1/4 of the bottle and my hair is pretty thick. I didn’t add as much to my tips as I did to my roots since I was wanting the color more on my roots. I probably could have put more in my hair, but honestly, what I did is adequate for what I’m wanting! You may just need more if you’re trying to do a more drastic color change. I was trying to keep my hair looking as natural as possible and the medium brown definitely did the trick!

So i did this on a whim, im a diy girly and like to be cheap and wanted a change from the blonde. After i did this, of course i read things online about not using this to actually dye blonde hair because it will turn green, blah blah blah. But…. i have been super happy with the result, the color is amazing, just as i wanted, and my hair has not turned green at all. Ive maintained it about once a month by putting the gloss on my dry hair and letting it sit before washing it, but other than that its been great and the color only slightly fades. I wash my hair about 3-4 times a week. So…. not encouraging people to do this because got forbid Im the reason someone’s hair turned green, but im super happy with my decision

    Edit: fixed spelling mistake lol

I have natural stawberry blonde hair, and the strawberry deposit worked okay for its purpose. It lasts me about 3 washes (i wash my hair every 2-4 days) it did not take to my roots but i expected a minimal result due to my hair being virgin. My ends were dry and split so i knew it would absorb the most color there. It really just took into any of the blonde i had from being out in the summer sun. I have medium length hair, thick, and straight and I used 1/2 of a bottle my first go round. I got 2 uses out of the bottle, which was about 2 weeks of color. I followed instructions, left it in clean damp hair for 30 minutes, and then rised as usual. I have to say however I most likely will not purchase this again. It did help with dry ends, it made my hair soft, it smells nice, just not really worth my pocket change or normal hair care routine. The photo before was several days in braids to avoid washing it, and the second photo is after the thirty minute application and using a cool setting to dry some of the hair to show the difference. It stayed soft for about a day, which is normal for my hair. Everyone is different, I really wanted to love this, I just cant get behind it.

Wanted to try a penny-like copper on my completely virgin medium/dark brown hair. I figured a gloss like this in Copper would be a good temporary way to test out whether or not I liked the color, but didn’t have high expectations starting with quite a dark base color. I did a strand test first using hair from my brush and it seemed to give it just a tint of copper, so I took the plunge on my whole head.

I used a clarifying shampoo in the shower, then applied this with gloves on very damp hair and clipped it up for the rest of my shower, about 15 mins, then rinsed out. I have fine, thin hair about 4” past my shoulders and used about 1/5 of the bottle for this. I was pretty surprised by how long it took to rinse out – pink/coral water just kept coming and coming with no end…I felt like I was rinsing all the color out!

Finally I decided I couldn’t rinse any longer…And got out of the shower to see my scalp dyed bright Halloween orange! So it was back in the shower and did some more scrubbing and rinsing to try to remove the scalp stains (which helped a little but my scalp was very much still bright orange for multiple days afterwards – thank goodness I did it on a weekend where I didn’t have to be anywhere). Once dry, I could see my roots tinged ever so subtly red-copper but there was absolutely nothing on my lengths or ends. I figured maybe my base color is just too dark for this color, but decided to try one more time.

The second time, I decided to apply it to dry hair to see if that would help it take more color. I applied it dry (used much more product this time, about 1/3 bottle) and let it sit for about 30+ mins before rinsing it out in the shower (no shampoo). Same rinsing scenario – I must have been under the water for 10+ minutes doing nothing but rinsing and rinsing, and coral pink was still pouring from my hair until I eventually gave up. So don’t expect this to rinse clear!

You can see the results from my photos – you can definitely notice a red/copper tint to it, which was more obvious in person and in direct sunlight! I imagine if you’re starting with a lighter base color, you’d definitely see more result. No real noticeable results in terms of glossiness, softness, nor shine, but my hair is fairly healthy to begin with.

Besides my scalp being orange for days, another big con was the fragrance: I’m used to using all fragrance-free products so the smell of this was incredibly perfumey to me. The nights after using it, I kept waking up feeling like I and my pillow were just engulfed in this strong perfumey fragrance. Would have been much nicer if it had no added fragrance and that alone makes me hesitant to use it again.

It washed out to the point where it wasn’t noticeable anymore after only about 3-4 washes. I wash my hair every other day so for me this meant it lasted only about one week. And I had to use a towel and pillowcase I didn’t mind getting stained the whole time since so much color poured out every shower and it was staining my white towel (luckily this came out in the wash).

Overall: since my base color is already quite dark and it only lasted about 1 week on me, I can’t say it would be worth using this again. The scalp staining and the fragrance make it even less worth it. But it definitely worked for a subtle tint. Apply it dry for the most color deposit. And if you’re starting with a lighter base color, I imagine the results could be pretty dramatic.

I have a warm almost coppery brunette hair and wanted to play up the copper.
I bought “copper” thinking that’d do it, but it is more of a deep burgundy or pink. Started to really worry when the water I was rinsing was VERY pink and not at all copper or orangey.
Was going for Merida, ended up with little mermaid.
Maybe the “strawberry” would have been a better choice… But that sounds pink amd copper sounds copper so that seems ridiculous. I would also rather not spend another $50.
It does deposit a decent amount of colour though so the product seems ok, the shade names are just misleading and it’s hard to tell what they’ll look like before purchasing.
