Reading the reviews I wasnt sure if this curling iron would be as good as everyones been saying. I have semi thick hair, thats almost down to my waist. When it was shorter,I had no problems with the curls holding, but now that its this long its super hard for me to get curls to stay. Before this one i had the gold ‘Pro’ curling iron from target. Its wasnt ceramic and thats why i think my hair only stayed for about an hour, including all the crap i put in tomake it hold before and after curling. With this one, i use a light mist of heat protectant, curl, and then some hairspray when im done. Doing it THIS way instead of the old, i get soft shiney curls instead of fried clumps of curled hair.
Basically this is the BEST curling iron ive came across so far. It holds my hair without tons of hairspray, its gets hot really fast, and the heat temp. knob works well b/c it cant slip with the touch a your hand (you actually have to crank it).One slight negitive is it does have a funny smell that kind of smells like burning plastic =X, but luckily wears off after a few uses (& thankfully the smell DOES NOT transfer to your hair!! or atleast to mine)
Overall i’d def recommend this product to someone else, it leaves soft silky curls that LAST FOR HOURS without frying & adding loads of product to your hair.

So I bought this upgrading from a drugstore curling iron. Turns out all curling irons are not created equal. This biggest difference between this one and the drugstore curling iron is that my hair slides through this beautifully. I am somewhat inept at using a curling iron and no matter what my hair does not get caught or pinched AT ALL in the hinge or the clamp. It’s actually amazing how I don’t have to be careful at all and my hair slides out of the clamp every time.
The temperature control is the only thing I don’t like. It’s a dial you twist at the base of the clamp and there are about 6 temperature settings ranging from 210F to 400F. The middle of the range is goes from 250, 330, 380. I don’t feel like 330 is hot enough for my medium hair and 380 is a bit too hot. I wish there was a middle range between those options. The iron overall feels very gentle and doesn’t get as hot as the drugstore one does (the 330 on this one feels lower than 330 on my drugstore iron). So if you want high hot heat for your hair, this might not work. I just did my first curls with it so we’ll see how my hair holds after being curled with lower heat. If you have fine or delicate hair, this will work great as there are more options at the lower temperature settings.
The 1 1/4 inch iron created very loose waves in my collarbone length hair. If I were to choose again, I would probably go with the 1 inch for loose curls at my length.

I have other products by BaByliss that heat fast and we’ll so I thought this one would be the same. It seems hot but when I tried it on my hair it didn’t curl very well 🙁

This curler works great and is made well. The temperature settings help achieve the styles you want. I have course hair and its highest setting is perfect for making my hair curl beautifully and stay without too much product.

The paint is coming off of the barrel and along the top by the clamp… I just recently started using it a lot as I got my hair cut and the black is all wore off of it. Very disappointed considering my last curling iron from walmart lasted 4 years.

This is a great curling iron! I purchased it to replace another BaByliss curling iron that I had used so much that I broke the spring (after more than 5 years of use). I wouldn’t purchase any other brand! The curling iron arrived promptly (ahead of schedule) and the price was better than purchasing locally. Highly recommend!

This Babyliss Pro Porcelain Ceramic curler has a longer barrel, heats instantly, and feels great in your hand. Very easy to use and being it’s porcelain, it curls your hair perfectly at a lower temperature. The temperature clicks as you adjust so its stays on the tempt that you set. It doesn’t accidentally moves to another temperature like all others. I’m so in love with it, I’m tempted to buy another, just to make sure I never do without one. The barrel is 1.25. Love it. ❤️
