Even on the highest setting, this does get as hot as the Babyliss flat iron on the same temp. Bristles aren’t long enough for coarse thick hair. These two factors combined make for a pretty disappointing product. It will definitely reduce a small amount of frizz, but is by no means smoothing

This has a lot of excellent reviews and is not too expensive or too cheap. It’s light weight and has a temp setting. The shell of the unit is made of a high polished plastic which causes extra flyaways and static. I used it twice with different heat protectants and there was no difference. My previous heated paddle brush that had a matte, textural casing that helped control static. The temp control on this unit locks so you can’t shut it off accidentally while using. However, if you want to set it to 310 degrees, you’ll have to let it heat to 400 degrees and then back it down to 310. Even though it heats super fast, this process negates the time saved and may be even more time consuming. When you plug it in again, you’ll have to start the process all over again. This unit is very well made, but I found the length of the brush section too short. It’s less than four inches. If you have shoulder length hair, you may find it to be just right. I have long fine, wavy, frizzy hair down to my mid back. This is advertised for fine hair, but I found that it didn’t grab my hair enough to facilitate the smoothing process.

I have a medium-length, piecey, balayage with bangs style haircut and stubbornly straight Asian hair with a mind of its own when I wake up in the mornings. This tool is exactly what I needed to get my hair back in the same style as my hair stylist intended. Heats up quickly, maintains the heat, lightweight, and easy to use. I start with a quick spray of Living Proof Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo, then heat style with this brush. Brush is easy to pack for travel. I’ve taken it on a couple business trips. I now bought a second one to keep at my partner’s home.

I am Asian, course black hair, no colouring, lots of hair, and my hair always gives me headaches. I’ve resolved to perm Japanese flat ironing done in a hair saloon but the trouble with that is after a few month the root grows out looking like electrified while the treated hair was perfectly flat and smooth. So I’d use a flat iron to deal with it.
As I grow older getting hair treatment done like this becomes uninteresting and harmful. And my last Japanese flat iron perm on highlighted hair ruined everything. I decided to have a pixie cut 2021 September to start over. It’s been a while now and it’s at a length just pass my shoulder. Very always length and I hate it.
All is not helping when I am low maintenance and with a full household and two part time jobs I am just not into having to spend time taking care of my hair other than washing with shampoo and conditioner.

This is the first brush I purchased (after having been introduced in the saloon I frequent.). I have to say I am very happy with it. Attached pictures will show you without any touch up what my hair originally looks like and how after using this tool it looks (which to me is very acceptable).

I own few of BabyblissPRO tools and this one is a huge disappointment. I bought this compact version because it was supposed to perform as the regular one and I felt it would be perfect for traveling. Well, it’s not. It didn’t straight, smooth or reduce frizz in my hair. I am returning it.

I love thing! I have multiple other babybliss items, the quality of their items never disappoints. I wanted a paddle starightener, i have thin blonde hair and traditional irons tend to damage my hair, i wanted a paddle staightener but i wanted to get one that actually works as intended. I found the one! I didn’t have any issues with the buttoon, i had read a lot of peopke hitting the buttons etc. There is a wheel, that controls the tempature and it is also the power button it is slightly recessed – I didnt find it easy to hit while using the tool. This is my new favorite babybliss item, it took half the time to get my hair smooth and frizz free. I like that the bristles on the outside keep you from burning your scalp, unfortunately you can still burn your ears though so please be mindful and use the brush backwards over that section with the bristles facing away from you!

I liked the results I got. It is suitable for touch-ups on non-wash hair days, too. This is a good idea, but the placement of the buttons is not good. It is easy to shut it off by mistake and turn it to a higher temperature you may not want. I would relocate them to a less accessible area. When holding the paddle, it is easy to hit the temperature buttons and shut it off or turn it up in temperature. The buttons are a light touch button and easy to hit. This is not a good idea for someone new to this product type. A more skilled person who can work it and pay attention to not accidentally change the settings or shut it off is much better. I do not think anyone young should use this as they may burn their hair, neck, and face. This item should be supervised to avoid that. Although I had to learn not to hit the buttons, I did not return it because it does what I need. It is good for complete styling and/or a quick touch up.
