I want to write this review for not only the product, but the wonderful customer service that I received from GEX so that anyone questioning whether or not this Amazon seller stands by their product and warranty can be well informed!
I purchased my original tripod from GEX via Amazon in January (2019), but did not get around to unboxing and using it until this past month (August 2019) …..don’t judge me I order A LOT & get full use of my prime membership 🙈😂. In any case, upon first use the tripod neck snapped off. Obviously I was shocked and upset bc I knew it was outside of the return timeframe for Amazon. I tried to pry the broken piece off, I toyed with the idea of super glue, but ultimately I ended up chalking up to a loss and resigned myself to purchasing a new one in the pink color (this one) when I returned from vacay….which I did and I love!
However, upon purchase I received the email reminding me of the 1 year warranty & decided to contact the company regarding the broken one that had given up on.
I sent a text to the warranty contact number and received a timely response. I was greeted with empathy and concern for my problem with the product. After an attempt to help me trouble shoot the issue to no avail the customer service person happily made good on my warranty and shipped me a replacement tripod without a problem & free of charge which arrived in the same 2 day timeframe as my prime delivery.
Customer service is a dying art and I’m grateful anytime I receive stellar customer service and when a company stands by their product without making the customer jump through hoops for a replacement.
I now have my replacement and this new pink unit and I love them both & will happily be buying another soon!! The tripods themselves are sturdy, easy to assemble and use, and made of quality parts…..not that lightweight hollow/bendable aluminum. Fold down small to travel with and include a carry bag + extra/replacement knob, instructions & warranty card.

When i recieved it i was very pleased with how well it was packaged, there was literally no assembly required. I was a little disappointed with how short it was length wise but figured I’d make due since i have been using a beauty supply mannequin head to construct my wigs between my legs which was back breakingthen BOOM i realized the latches on the bottom were to extend the legs…TWICE! I was able to extend it to the perfect height. The travel bag was an added bonus. This thing is super sturdy & my cork head fit just right. No more wobbling while making my units. I’m very impressed & super satisfied. It was worth every penny. Thank you so much!!

I am updating my review to 5 stars, the seller asked to see photos and when I sent them, they offered to replace my tripod. This is fantastic customer service and reflects well on them and makes me believe this might be an unusual occurrence.

A good wig stand is hard to find. Tripod stands are inherently problematical since the sideways motions that you use when you style a wig (often requiring quite a bit of strength) cause the stand to tilt. This is true for any tripod that doesn’t have some additional means of support, like a foot stabilizer system. That’s why the most popular wig stands for working on wigs with professionals are those which can be attached to heavy work tables or desks.
Having said all that, this is a fairly typical wig tripod. It seems less durable than others I have used. The tripod is of moderate quality. The wig attachment lasted for two years of not really very intense use, and then the metal welding broke, rendering it inoperable and unrepairable. This is the most disturbing part of this, as I have other wig stands which I have used for 6 years or more, and are still going strong.
I will be looking for a tripod wig stand, as they are useful for teaching and demonstrations, but this may not be my first candidate for a repurchase.

At first I loved this tripod. It was sturdy and was compact so traveling with it was easy. I was busy teaching at the time so I used it for about 2 months daily then put it up for a while. Pull it back out to do some certifications and now the leg is sliding down and I don’t know how to fix it. This is my 2nd tripod (the 1st one was from a different company) BUT I don’t want to have to continue to purchase tripods every few years. Overall good tripod. Now the question is How Do I Stop It From Siding?????

EDIT 10/21/17: The company sent me a replacement part after responding here about the product having a one year warranty. I didn’t even think about that. Great customer service! I installed the new part and hope it lasts.
The part where you tighten the ball on the top (attached to the piece that you slide a wig head over) is not very strong. After about 30 to 40 uses of the stand, it doesn’t like to hold. I use canvas heads and heavy wigs, but it should be able to stand up to this. It likes to fall sideways (again, the top part; not the entire structure). I could use pliers to tighten it even further but the more I do this, the weaker it becomes. It’s pretty much unusable at this point. For the price, I thought I had invested in something that would last long-term. Instead I have something that won’t hold and sometimes makes the canvas head fall off and ruin the styling of the wig I’m doing, unless you have the head straight up and down vertically. Sometimes you need to have it at a 45º tilt. But the bolt won’t hold the ball in place any more.

Ok I read a lot of reviews and I was like why not buy it since I bout a cheap one already I don’t really like I’m only using to bleach and dye hair on. But this baby from the moment I got it I’m like it’s sturdy that’s for sure because of it’s weight. Yes it sturdy very sturdy at that. The colour is wonderful I love the thickness oh my I fell in love with it… stop buying the cheap ones and get you one of these I’ll be buying again for sure.
