I Have been through a lot of clippers over the last 10years, and these are by far the best yet. I went to hair school, and these are easier and better to use and maneuver than the ones we were taught with. THey haven’t clogged, or gotten dull. And they are super quite which is what I was looking for. We have a son who is super sensitive to sounds, and a lot of other things. Hair cuts are always a fight. But with these, i just turn on the show, and you don’t even hear the clippers running, when before the tv would have to be way loud, not anymore. THey have such a powerful motor that you can go through hair like butter, so be careful until you get use to them.

I have owned the Oster A-5 which I had for many years and used to groom my horse quickly and easily, so when I saw that Oster made this clipper, I thought I would give it a try, although I was not sure if it would be powerful enough. I have tried the regular commercial and salon type clippers but have not been satisfied. The hair was choppy looking and many times the blades struggled to get through the hair.
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with these Oster clippers and I love the Funkadelic look! I clipped my husband’s hair and it was fast, powerful, quiet and got the job done nicely – it was like cutting through butter, literally! It was comfortable to hold, but the blade itself can get a little warm. The hair was evenly and perfectly cut. I used the 3 blade on the bottom and the 4 blade for the top, blending the hair perfectly and easily.
I would recommend that if you want longer hair styles, you should purchase the complete set of blade guards. The guards that come with the clippers are for pretty short buzz cuts, which is fine for us. You will need a smaller clipper/groomer for the finishing details, but there is not much left to do after this clipper is through. Also, we noticed that after six weeks or more, the hair grows in nicely, evenly and he can still get away with just cleaning up the edges and sideburns. A testimony to the quality of the clippers – and the stylist too! I do highly recommend this clipper!

This is the hair clipper equivalent of a Volvo 240 station wagon. Kinda clunky, not particularly ergonomic, kinda loud, very old-fashioned, but also very simple, serviceable, and well-made. I suspect I will be using this for decades.

I owned a Wahl clipper that I bought for $50 and kept for three years, after which it basically died on me. For only 30 dollars more the quality and premium feel of this Oster clipper is easily 10 times better than the Wahl brand clipper I had. The solid construction tells me this will easily last two to three times as long as the Wahl brand one, and the incredible length adjustment let’s me get all of the different lengths of hair with only three gaurds. I had to use four or five with the Wahl brand to get a good grade. This thing gets top stars for the excellent quality, durability, and professional feel. And it looks top quality too, I easily could see this in a barber’s shop.

Best clippers I’ve ever owned by far. Easily cuts through very thick hair and barely got warm and never came close to bogging down. I’ve easily spent twice as much buying cheaper clippers over the years. Wish I would have found these years ago
