I am fascinated by the abundance of natural ingredients in this hair product. Being the geek that I am (and wanting to know exactly what I was putting on my hair), I was curious about the identity and benefits of these ingredients. I looked up 19 ingredients, and I am sharing my research (you might wish to do some of your own research to verify my data). I’ve listed ingredients in the same order they appear on the ingredient list (meaning they also go in order of most abundant ingredient first). I know this is a lot of information, so skip to my results if you like.

    1. Watermelon seed oil – benefits hair cuticle as it contains minerals such as copper and potassium.
    2. Pumpkin seed oil — Hair moisturizer that nourishes hair follicles and can promote hair thickness and hair count
    3. Green tea extract — Stimulates hair growth by nourishing the cells of the scalp to produce healthy follicles and strong hair roots
    4. Horsetail extract — Strengthens and improves elasticity of hair fiber, reduces inflammation and improves cell turnover for optimal environment on scalp for healthy hair growth
    5. Amla fruit extract — Rich in vitamin C, E and antioxidants, all of which contribute to cellular regeneration and promote healthy circulation to the blood vessels in the scalp
    6. Hibiscus seed oil — Naturally rich in amino acids, which provide your hair with nutrients that promote hair growth. Also good for producing keratin.
    7. Coco-caprylate — Derived from coconut oil. Excellent for moisturizing the hair.
    8. Passiflora edulis (passion fruit) seed oil — Rich source of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Considered to be an excellent emollient with the ability to moisturize as it penetrates the hair.
    9. Oryza sativa (rice bran oil) — Revives the hair by promoting the growth of thicker, longer and stronger hair
    10. Euterpe oleracea fruit (açaí berry) oil — Rich in nutrients, it is effective for reducing hair loss – The omega fatty acids, along with vitamin C, nourish the scalp by keeping it hydrated and creating a protective barrier against external aggressors which often cause hair fall
    11. Larix europaea wood extract (European larch) — Consists of sugar molecules — It acts as a humectant that draws moisture from the surrounding air — Can stimulate follicles to encourage hair growth
    12. Camellia sinensis leaf extract (also green tea extract) — stimulates hair growth
    13. Clover flower extract — Stregthens the hair, can stimulate hair growth, and prevents an irritated scalp
    14. Rosa damascena (rose oil) — As a mild astringent, it helps reduce oiliness (also provides fragrance)
    15. Amber extract — An extract of amber fossil resin, it nourishes, strengthens and smoothes the hair. It gives hair elasticity, softness and shine
    16. Cucumber fruit extract — Contains oleic acid and linoleic acid, making it a deep moisturizer and hydrator
    17. Grapefruit oil — A natural antiseptic and disinfectant, it inhibits the growth of bacteria that can negatively affect the scalp
    18. Santalum album (sandalwood oil) — Treats hair problems like dandruff and prevents hair fall. Its astringent property makes is effective in warding off sebum secretion in scalp, treating split ends and enhancing hair luster
    19. Vanilla planifolia fruit extract (vanilla seed extract) — Strengthens hair and induces blood flow to the scalp to promote hair growth

BE SURE TO SHAKE THE BOTTLE FIRST
Wow! I honestly don’t think I have ever come across a product with so many ingredients that are good for your hair! Be sure to give the bottle a good shake to blend all of those ingredients before applying to your hair.

    MY RESULTS
So, what are my results? I have been using this product for about a week. The most noticeable result is that my hair is incredibly soft and well moisturized. It has some nice shine to it. My hair is naturally thick and curly, and I find that my hair seems to be less frizzy.

    THE FRAGRANCE
I noticed that some folks who wrote a review commented that they did not like the fragrance of this product. Scent is, of course, subjective. Personally, I think the rose oil, sandalwood oil and vanilla seed extract come together to equal a product with strong floral notes. I don’t dislike it, but if you are sensitive to fragrance, you might not want to use it overnight. The directions say that you can leave it in your hair for as little as 30 minutes.

    FINAL THOUGHTS
Is this product expensive? Yeah, it is a bit pricy. However, given the size of the bottle and the fact that you need one or two dropper fulls per treatment, it should last you for a while. Also, when you stack the price up against the sheer volume of high end ingredients, the cost is not unreasonable. Based on my results, this product is two thumbs up for me!

I put about three droppers full on to my scalp and massaged it in with one of those scalp massagers for a couple minutes. That’s a good combo, felt great. I then went to bed and left it on over night. I did a double wash in the morning to make sure all the oil was removed and used my regular products. My hair felt so soft, I was really impressed.

As for growth, we’ll see. I already know I won’t use it 3-4 times a week and with how much is required this bottle wouldn’t last a month if you used it that much. I will use it 1-2 times a week as a hair treatment for as long as it lasts. If growth occurs I’ll update. It may be worth a try just for the softness it provides.

I know the scent bothers a lot of people but I didn’t mind it, I found it to be “pleasant”. I did find this to be quite oily, but this is an oil so that isn’t a huge surprise and is to be expected. I usually wash my hair at night and let it air dry as I sleep – when I wake up I get the perfect curls, texture, and volume. That has been my hair routine for beautiful hair. It was a little bit of a hassle for me to use this oil because if I applied this before bed, that means I would have to wash my hair in the morning before I left the house, otherwise I have a greasy, flat head of hair. If I apply this during the day then I can’t go anywhere during the day with my greasy, flat head of hair. My point is, I’m just not sure my schedule allows this routine. This is meant to be used for 12 weeks for best results, but I personally can’t commit to this time frame. As of now I am doing this only on the weekends and some days when I know I’ll be home all day. So far it is too soon to tell if I am benefiting from this hair oil because I’m not using this as instructed but I plan to keep using this whenever I can. I do love some of other Agent Nateur’s products but I’m not sure I would get this one again just because it is too greasy to have on my scalp/hair without disrupting my busy schedule.

I used this until it was out. I didn’t really see too much of a difference. It may be more of a long term usage to see something. My hair is a bit more thin though.

  5. Alison

Pretty pricy for a hair growth serum that is more time consuming and greasier than other options. It does require a minimum of 8 hours, so bedtime is a must, or else you’ll be walking around all day with hair that looks oily! The bottle is small and to see any results, a lot of it must be used. I can’t justify keeping this up as a routine, especially at the price. There are more budget friendly options out there that don’t require so much upkeep.

  6. Chloe

You’re supposed to massage this into your hair for 15 minutes which sounds like a long time but I do it while watching tv and it’s a nice little downtime massage. I love the smell too! I haven’t noticed a huge difference yet but it smells great and makes my hair feel nice so I’m going to keep using it.

  7. PinkLeaf

I looked forward to using this hair treatment, but unfortunately, I cannot get past the scent! I can’t quite identify the scent (my husband said it smells like 1980s potpourri), but the smell grinds on me.
I couldn’t get through one treatment without having to wash it out. I am scent sensitive though…
I am going to have my sister try it to see if it is just me!

I am so disappointed. I wanted to love this hair serum, but firstly it does not smell natural. It smells like something synthetic is in it. I love the smell of essentials and natural things, but this is not natural smelling. I tried it a few times and put a shower cap on to try to hide the smell. I didn’t notice any difference in my hair texture or shine. It is not worth the price at all. Very disappointed.
