I have long, fine, thin, wavy hair that is extremely hard to style. This product is fantastic! I use about a 2 golf ball size amount. It makes my hair soft and voluminous, and it lasts for days! Love it!

After reading reviews, I was hopeful this would be the key to adding volume to my fine hair. I really didn’t like the way my hair felt – dry – and it didn’t really add much volume. Really disappointed, especially considering the price.

Saw this featured years ago on a Morning TV Show. I have thin, pin straight hair, yet I wear it short and spiky. This product lives up to it’s hype!!! This product gives my hair the body and texture it needs!! This product is costly, but lasts forever!! You don’t use much and when you take into account the amount you use, vs how long the bottle will last you, the cost is worth it!!

My best advice is buy this somewhere you can return/exchange it if it’s not right for you! For me, my hair felt like dehydrated STRAW that no matter how much I used a boar brush gently with heat to smooth, it just looked like a damaged nightmare – stiff, no movement, and I barely used any. Maybe if I’d ONLY used it at my roots? Trying just a tiny bit more, it only got worse. I see in reviews I’m not the only one! I rewashed immediately and used Oribe’s Royal Blowout and I was back to loving how my hair felt/looked. Maybe if I’d

It clearly works on some hair types, but on my wavy/curly hair it was the worst product I’ve ever tried for a smooth blow-dry look (going for just soft smooth wave)
Since the reviews are LOVE IT, or HATE IT, at this price, better to buy where you can return it. Sadly, via Amazon, I can’t.

I was very excited to try Starring, as I (and my hair) are Ted Gibson product fans. It did not disappoint. I have fine hair, and two dollops of this meringue on my damp hair adds volume, texture, and weightless movement. I really don’t need much more styling other than a quick blow dry. But,…if the straight or curling iron come out-this product provides hold while maintaining the movement -all day! It’s a game changer. So pleased with the results EVERY TIME! Ooh, and the smell is just delicious, my coworkers can’t stop sniffing my hair. I just need a travel size, and hopefully will see some finishing spray and dry shampoo for those lazy days. New addiction!

UPDATE: still am loving this product! I washed, applied 2 pumps of product, and dried out my shoulder length hair fine hair in the morning. No other product was used. NEXT DAY,…after sleeping, still no more products,…my hair held it’s shape with no greasiness ALL DAY! Unheard of for my hair type. I just love love love this product. Giving it as gifts.

I have extremely curly hair & product is key to keeping it controlled & bouncy all at the same time. I use a leave in every single day as part of my routine. Starring has taken over 5 other product I used to buy so the price is premier but if used correctly it pushes everything off the shelf! I had some knowledge about this product when it first launched and fell in love with the versatility of it. Key is versatility, I think consumer expect to pick it up and use it like any other thing on their shelf. I recommend it highly although through my experience it has become clear you have to use it correctly.
I am a hairdresser and can honestly say I find this product to have useful value IN DIFFERENT WAYS FOR Every ONE OF MY CLIENTS & myself.
I get the price point is premium but this 10oz packaging goes along way..
I read through some of the reviews just now as I helped my mother in-law .. yes a 68 year old women with natural body short tapered hair place her order. She LOVES this product & she a tough little Italian lady that would of poo poo’d It after one try if she didn’t like it!
& like I said I have curly hair and Curly girls need a healthy helping of product so I’m speaking from Personal experience you don’t need to much you need the right amount for your hair type and your hair has to be wet not damp! But then you can re apply to refresh mid day /day 2 & day 3 !!!
Applying to fine hair for volume blow dry or full coarse hair for sleek blow dry is simple , & what other mouse foam whatever u want to call it, can you apply to dry hair to refresh & texturize natural waves , beach waves or bridal style curls.
feedback I have gotten from my clients which if I’m being honest out ways the number the reviews on this page, the typical conversation is the amount applied ; where to apply & when to apply , wet damp, dry all those things are determined by how you want your hair to ultimately look.
If you are not a fan of the fragrance that is your preference but general consensus obsesses how they will get compliments mid day or day 2 about the aroma & others can’t believe it’s just their hair product.
My final advice is when purchasing a premium versatile product respect its capabilities! Don’t try to use it the exact same way your using what your already have, bc it’s nothing like what you already have.
And if this product didn’t achieve the results you hoped for jump on here and ask a few questions so you can get the value of what #STARRINGHAIR OFFERS.
PS @tedgibson is amazing & @starring on Instagram are only a Direct message away if you wanted a tip on how best to use on your hair type.

For years I have used Matrix Biolage Gel for styling my baby fine hair. I need body. After reading the glowing reviews I decided to try Shooting Star to see how it compares to my standby. It didn’t. The Biolage gives my hair body and leaves it shiny and healthy looking. This product, while adding some body, but not a lot, left my hair dry and dingy looking. I didn’t like the smell and the foam left a sticky residue on my fingers. In comparing prices, SS costs $52 for 10 ounces. Biolage costs $20 for 16.9 ounces. I’m sticking with my tried and true.

I am not sure why there are 1 star reviews. It defiantly did not make my hair crunchy, dry or oily.
I am low maintenance with my hair but love quality products and this is all you really need. I applied when my hair is slightly damp at the root for lift, let it air dry and than used a 1″ barrel for soft waves. The product created volume and maintained my style all day – which is what I wanted without having to use multiple hair-products. I am not sure how anyone else is using it but before giving one star reviews, perhaps contemplating that it may be user error?
Do not discourage and scare off other potential customers from a great product!
Added Bonus – It really smells great! Not overpowering at all.
