8 reviews for Oribe Serene Scalp Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

I have tried several anti-dandruff shampoos. During weather changes my scalp tends to get pretty dry and flakey. After the first use of this shampoo, my scalp was less red and irritated and way less flaky. It is pricey, but worth the results. I use it every other shower to make the shampoo last longer.

    Hello there, Amazon!

I purchased this shampoo (and conditioner that I’ll review here) and just took my first shower with it.

    Here are my initial impressions!

    Shampoo:

Scent: I love it. It’s a green, crisp smell like sweet cut grass and herbs drenched in fruity water. I could see very vaguely how some people could get roses out of it but the floral smell is more like tulips to me.

Appearance: The bottle is a gorgeous soft pink and the actual liquid itself is a shimmery mother of pearl color.

Lather: Not much! It was smooth and soft on my hands and when I rubbed them together it made this very creamy foam. In my hair it spread evenly but felt a little oily and heavy. I was a little worried that it was too heavy for my hair because it’s short and straight but after rinsing it out, there was nothing left over and my hair didn’t have that stripped, squeaky feeling. It felt moisturized. I only used a teaspoons worth, if that.

    Conditioner:

Scent: It’s really close to the shampoo but you can smell the creaminess of the shea butter. It’s a little bit heavier on the nose.

Appearance: The bottle is definitely pretty but it’s a tube instead of a matching bottle. I like it and I don’t at the same time because I like my stuff to match, but that’s personal preference. It’s a creamy texture and very luxe on the hands.

Lather: None, but oh boy does it feel just lovely in my hair. The softness drenched my strands in a really comfortable way, without weighing them down or feeling suffocating. I left it on as I deign to do while I clean up the rest of the way and when I rinsed it out it came out really well. Some conditioners are hard to get out all the way and leave a strange residue. This one didn’t!

Results: Bouncy, soft, happy hair! My hair was really, really oily when I got in because I have seborrheic dermatitis and boy, miss a day or two and I get gross. It’s all gone! I mean…this is nasty but my hair changed a shade because it got out old oils that I haven’t been able to get out unless I use an intense rinse such as apple cider vinegar. It’s that good. I can’t speak to effectiveness over time, but my scalp feels light and happy so I have high hopes!

Here’s hoping I remember to come back in a month or so with updates, huh? 😘

    Okay, goodbye for now!

Always top notch and do what they are advertised to do!

I don’t have dandruff, but I do have psoriasis. It’s largely controlled with UV therapy and BHAs, but I somehow wind up getting a bit on my scalp, and every week or so I feel the itching starting to come on. This is easily treated with one of the drugstore psoriasis shampoos…but the problem is they are super super harsh, and make my waist length hair feel like straw.

Not this. I’ve been using Oribe and Kerastase exclusively for years, and this shampoo does the job while miraculously keeping my hair in shampoo-commercial condition. With 3% salicylic acid and a veritable cornucopia of hair strengthening ingredients, it’s massively effective while still managing to feel indulgent and luxurious. It works for psoriasis. It would definitely work for dandruff, atopic dermatitis, and eczema as well.

Just be aware that if you are sensitive to fragrance, this product is infused with Oribe’s signature (incredible) Cote d’Azur Scent by the boatload. I adore it, but those with skin and scalp that react badly to fragrance may not.

One star off for the price. Oribe is beyond quality and I’ve been a huge fan for years, but I cringe every time I hit “purchase” with any of their products.

    Awesome product

Best product out there but yikes the price. Still will buy.

Really wanted to love this, but it gave me the worst dandruff I’ve ever had, which is crazy because I bought this to help my scalp (which is dry and has some dandruff on most days). It also turned my hair quite greasy and weighed it down, and at first I thought it was just heavily moisturizing and that maybe it hydrated my scalp and hair even though it made my hair look much worse, but then I noticed the crazy amount of dandruff, so it definitely didn’t help moisturize my scalp. This is honestly the worst shampoo I’ve ever used in my life, and I’ve used countless shampoos. Oribe Gold Lust shampoo was just ok for me, nothing special, but this shampoo formulation is truly awful. And I’m not that sensitive to shampoo typically, so I definitely have to chalk it up to this formulation. And the amount of money this costs is frankly nuts for what it is. Avoid.

Leaves my hair soft and manageable and no need for conditioner.
