They smell a little funny when you first get them. Do I washed them, there was a lot of like dye in them so I cleaned them real good. I read some reviews that says it’s hard and doesn’t curl. Well mine aren’t hard after the wash and conditioning they’re very soft and I curl them with very tight curls using water, conditioner and pipe cleaners. Leave them in for a day or so. I’ll add a curled picture later.

Bought these as a solution for four of my ripped-out locs by my little niece. It’s a temporary solution until they grow out properly; I didn’t want them to merge.
I had them soaked in hair conditioner for four days and let them dry. They were still stiff, but now they look shiny. It’s not human hair entirely; I’ve deconstructed them, burned them, and tried to dye them before installation. The deconstruction showed me there were mixed materials in the loc, not sure what; I didn’t use a microscope, but definitely not all human. The burn test resulted in two outcomes: some burned like plastic, and some burned like hair. Dye them was miserable for me. I tried bleaching them using 20 and 30 developers, as well as coloring the additional strands with box dye. That color stayed put. I installed them anyway because I didn’t like the asymmetry caused by my missing four locs in the front of my head, but, again this is a temporary solution for an easily remedial problem. The locs I did not soak in conditioner, I noticed I had a slight reaction against my skin. I’m not sensitive in the slightest, but I’m not sure why.
Buy them and soak them before installing them to prevent a reaction. They are currently stiff, and the movement comes from my hair that has grown out with them. They’re good for the price. Don’t expect to have the ability to shape them or comb them out and reshape them without them looking off, I won’t buy these again If I have another painful hair accident, but they served their purpose. I’m removing them next month as my hair has grown sufficiently.
