    ***UPDATE 07/04/2024***

I continued to purchase this sunscreen for the reasons I mentioned in my original review. I purchased more of this sunscreen in May 2024 and noticed that the texture of the lotion changed from when I originally purchased it back in February 2024. The original texture of the lotion was watery / goopy, which made it very easy to apply to the skin / face / facial hair / a beard; the new texture comes out thicker and worm-like from the container. This new texture corrects the issue I mentioned at the end of this review of having to hold the container sideways when applying and when not in use because it is no longer runny. It also corrects the issue of accidently squeezing out more lotion than intended.

The downside is that it leaves a more noticeable white cast, particularly on facial hair / a beard. The lotion is still easy to apply to the face, skin, facial hair, a beard. I prefer the old texture of when it was runny / watery / goopy.

The TOP REASON I WOULD RECOMMEND this sunscreen is that it is very lightweight and very easy to spread to the skin, including to facial hair / a beard, without stretching the skin. I have tried many mineral sunscreen lotions, and this one, so far, has been the easiest to apply to the skin and facial hair/a beard. Other mineral sunscreen lotions are thick and sit heavy on the skin, which is potential for stretching of the skin.

I WOULD ONLY recommend applying this sunscreen to the face; use another sunscreen for the rest of the body. This sunscreen is ideal for incidental sun exposure and short periods of time out in the sun – driving locally in your vehicle, sitting near windows, or being outdoors where buildings are covering the sun.

I WOULD NOT recommend for long periods of time out in the sun.

Some of the reviews mentioned that this sunscreen left a white cast and left flakes on the skin – I did not experience a heavy white cast. I would say it left a faint white cast. It did, however, look flakey after it had dried. This is the primary reason why I wouldn’t recommend spending long periods of time out in the sun with this sunscreen, while the other reason would be the moderate concentration of zinc oxide. The flakiness did not completely wash out. The flakiness only occurred on my face and forehead; it did not occur on my neck.

    ADDITIONAL COMMENTS (04/27/2024):

As I previously mentioned, I highly recommend this sunscreen because of how easy it is to apply to the face, without stretching the skin. The ease of application is a main factor one should consider when purchasing sunscreen – your skin is like a rubber band and stretching it over time causes it to remain stretched. It also contains an adequate amount of zinc oxide to provide moderate UVA protection. This sunscreen is only meant for the face. Considering the amount of zinc, it only leaves a faint white cast.

I am not experiencing the amount of dry flakes as when I first started using this product.

Because this sunscreen is runny, do not leave it face down. Instead, lay it flat. Be careful when opening the product and when squeezing the contents out, as sometimes more lotion than desired may come out.

Good Molecules is an amazing brand especially for skincare that doesn’t contain harmful chemicals! I love this sunscreen as an everyday wear and it also works very well when you’re in the sun for long periods of time.

It is super lightweight and rubs in very easily as well. The only thing is it really hurts if you rub your face, and rub your eyes even if it’s hours after application because the residual product gets in your eyes. I still use it and I’m just more conscious about rubbing my eyes. I like this one and cocokind but this is better value for what you pay in my opinion.

I’ve tried so many sunscreens and this one is by far the best. There’s no white cast and it doesn’t look dry or oily on my face

Try it for yourself and see how well it works! You will be full of happiness to discover you CAN enjoy the summer months without a hat — this sunscreen works GREAT on fair skin 🙂 It is easy to apply and doesn’t feel greasy or oily. I am not worried about stains on areas where clothing may touch 🙂

This is a repeat purchase for me. I have sensitive skin and this has never caused any sort of breakouts or irritation on my face. I’ve never had an issue with a white cast before, either, but I make sure to moisturize well before I apply the sunscreen. It has a light scent to it, nothing that lingers or bothers me. My make up goes on well after I’ve let it sit for a minute or two. I use it on my whole face, my neck, and the tips of my ears.

Just finished using all of this product. Unfortunately, the sunscreen is very oily. Probably could be used as a moisturizer alternative when using. If you have really dry skin it may be perfect for you. Due to it being oily it transfers to everything. No white cast though. This product contains Butyloctyl Salicylate which is listed as a known cancer causing ingredient as it is in the same molecule family as Octisalate. Due to the listed above ingredient I will be looking for another sunscreen that is actually nontoxic.
