I currently have at least 10 bottles of various self tanners, but wanted to find a perfect gradual tan lotion with less of a smell to it. I thought this being cheaper and an old-school brand, it would be orange if any color at all, and would smell terrible like the other drugstore ones (loreal, etc). This one is fantastic: best color, and most importantly to me, the smell is not the typical terrible self tan smell. I just ordered my second bottle, and am putting the others under the sink.

I miss my Loreal deep tanner, which was discontinued.

This one is OK, but it’s not tinted, so you cannot spread it evenly and it dries somewhat splotchy

I have used this self-tanner for a few years. I am fair-skinned and use the Deep Dark Color. I used my hands to apply and squirt a nickel-size amount. I then lightly spread between hands and then dot my legs with the lotion, starting with calves and feet. I take caution when spreading. This is not tinted–my one complaint–so you can cause streaks, if you’re not careful. In other words, go slowly and carefully one section at a time. I start with calves and feet, then move to thighs with same process of dotting thigh with lotion and then carefully rubbing in. I do the same with upper body–neck, then shoulders, then forearms. This process has worked well for me and I don’t have to use a mitt. The scent is light but is still detectable. I will often do lower body one day and upper body next to avoid a noticeable self-tanning odor. I don’t use it on my face but will use bronzer, instead.

I have used this product for years-Google best way for application and you will look good

Five stars cause I love this product but ended up canceling my order cause it was taking to long.

For all the other straight guys who’ve never self tanned before (and anyone else ofc!), this stuff’s pretty solid! The pictures that people are putting for the reviews don’t really do the tans justice, but just know, it’ll immediately make that borderline albino skin of yours much nicer. I’ve mostly just been using it for my arms, as “streaking” (where little streaks have more/less dye than its surroundings) is more common the harder an area is to reach, and still occurs a little on my arms sometimes. That’s the main issue I have with this one in particular. Other tanners I’d looked at seemed to have a bronzer in them to help show where you had applied the tanner. This one looks and acts exactly like sun screen, so it’s hard to tell which spots may need extra application.

If your going to use the tanner make sure you follow the instructions to avoid any mishaps, as anything u throw on will be there for 4 days or so. All in all it’s a good beginner product to see if you like self tanning, which I do now, but I think I would try a higher priced one next time and see how it fairs in comparison. Either way, it DEFINITELY beats getting sun burnt every time you want even a sliver of color, and for the price their probably isn’t a better product.

I’ve used many other tanning lotions but I always come back to this one. I don’t want to look too dark or fake so I use it anytime I want to wear a dress without hose. Simply rub it on the areas you will expose and I go back with a dry cloth and rub the joint areas especially. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap & water because your hands and fingers and nails will show up tanned too. I normally apply mine at bedtime and wake up with a bit of a tan. If you want to go darker apply a second time. It may take some trial & error times to get it right. It last for several days.

But use Tanner gloves and be careful on ankles, toes, and fingers….you’ll get orange lines that stay like 5 days! I should’ve worn gloves!
