I like how easily this removes my makeup and will definitely repurchase it. The biggest downside to me is that you need to double cleanse immediately because of the residue left on your skin. It sometimes gets in my eyes because of this, which doesn’t hurt, but is uncomfortable.

The media could not be loaded.

I bought this balm cleanser instead of a certain brand’s squalane cleanser because it was a few dollars cheaper. Lesson learned.

The consistency and feel of it is like vaseline. It leaves a thick film of oil which you must then wash away with another cleanser. Double cleansing can he hard on skin, but you absolutely must with this, making it a poor choice for sensitive skin.

It smells like rancid oil. It made my exfoliating skin brush so nasty I will need to de-grease it with dish soap, and it made my tub slippery. It doesn’t even remove makeup well. I have better luck with straight oil than I do with this horrible product.

I tend to use products until they are empty but I am thinking of tossing this in the trash where it belongs and buying a tube of a proper balm cleanser like I should have in the first place.

UPDATE: My husband almost slipped in the shower. I asked what was up and he said it was slick. I noticed it left a very slick slimy layer in the tub. So on top of being a horrible cleanser, it’s dangerous.

Please see the straight, smelly oil coming out of the tube in the video. I promptly threw this junk in the trash where it belongs.

A million thanks to the Sephora team member who casually pointed me towards the INKEY list–the entire line has been blowing my mind! If you’re looking for a nice, unfussy balm to take off your makeup before using another cleanser to wash your face (aka double cleansing), this is a fantastic option. I’ve tried all kinds of makeup removing balms from low to high price points, and the INKEY List Oat Cleansing Balm is my new favorite. You get plenty of it for the price, which is great since I don’t believe most brands when they say a dime-sized amount will take off all your makeup in every circumstance. Even if a little does go a long way, I wear a full face of makeup every day and need at least a quarter’s worth of any balm to get everything off to my liking. This bottle is going to last me a good while, and it will go even farther for people who prefer the less is more model.

More importantly, the formula is awesome, one of those simple and to the point gems. It’s both gentle and very effective, a win/win for super sensitive/oily/prone to some serious hormonal acne skin like mine. It’s a little thicker than some of the other balms I’ve tried, but that’s been a plus for me. It feels like it’s really gripping the makeup on my face rather than just slip-sliding around the top layers of it. This balm also just FEELS clean, if that makes sense–it’s not chemical-y at all, it doesn’t have any added scents, but it also doesn’t smell too strongly or too strangely without them.

Most makeup removing balms out there don’t sting my eyes, but plenty do get into my eyes and leave a bit of a blurring film. It’s another win/win situation with this balm: it removes every bit of makeup off my eyes (no morning raccoon eyes!) but doesn’t stick around once I wipe it clean. For clarity, I do use a makeup eraser to wipe the balm off, which I think is a game-changing step no matter what balm you use.

After I’m done double cleansing, my skin never feels tight, dry or itchy in between the cleansing and moisturizing steps, and the gentle formula in this balm is a big part of that. I’ve seen a couple reviewers who say their skin felt greasy after using the balm, but for my part, I’ve never experienced that. That might be more of an issue if you want to use this as a standalone cleanser, but my skin just feels soft and makeup-free when I use it, even before I reach for the cleanser to complete my double cleanse.

In all, I love this simple and effective balm, and I’ll definitely be adding it to my subscribe and save list. For the price and the quality, it’s won me over from reaching for any other brand I’ve tried before.

I love this cleanser, I just ordered some more. It has a slight grainy texture that lessens if you add water before putting it on your face but I feel like it adds some nice exfoliation. It hasn’t caused any breakouts or irritation with my skin. I only use balm cleansers because my skin dries out with normal cleanser so this is definitely a staple for me now.

Su función la cumple pero la textura para mi gusto muy aceitosa y el olor un tanto fuerte pero desmaquillar lo hace genial!

I was so excited to try this product out. I ended up being a little disappointed only because it was a little too thick for my skin. I have very oily skin, so this left a little too much of a film on my skin. However, I think this would be a great option for someone with dry skin because my skin never felt overly stripped and it felt very hydrated. Definitely great for those with sensitive skin. This never irritated my skin even around the eyes. I’m not a huge makeup wearer, so I can’t speak to a makeup removal aspect, but I wear a lot of sunscreen, and this definitely got my sunscreen off. Overall great product. But, it’s a pass for my very, very oily skin.

    Pros:
    Price
Removes makeup effectively – even waterproof mascara
    Great for sensitive skin
    Great for dry skin
Love the squeeze lid packaging – the tubs get messy and annoying imo

    Cons:
Separates. – whenever I use this a thin oil dribbles out before the balm comes out. It has also leaked all over the cap when upright so I have to lay it down when not using it.
Thick film of oil on face afterwards – not a problem if you follow up with another cleanser or want the added hydration.

This is the best makeup melting cleanser I have ever used. It starts off as an ointment and I apply it to my face and massage, then get in the shower and rinse it off and wash it off with my hands. There is no smell, and it is extremely gentle on my skin. It removes all eye makeup as well as facial makeup without burning my eyes. Honestly, it makes my skin feel like I just moisturized it but it’s super clean and it has remained very very clear and healthier after using this cleanser I just ordered another bottle! It’s an extremely good value for your money because it lasts at least 3 months for me. It’s one of the easiest cleansers I’ve ever used because it’s just one step to get your face very clean but yet moisturized as well. I highly recommend it, especially for those of us with dry skin. It’s very very thick which is great!
