I used this once and can’t bring myself to use it again. My hair was clumpy and dull and very smelly afterward. It has been several days, and i’ve shampooed with other shampoos every day since, and i still have a rotten-egg smell in my hair, and have to change my pillowcase daily. It might be ok for feet or other body areas, but not for hair. Very tiny bottle too.

I bought this to treat dandruff after other shampoos didn’t work. I suffered through 3/4 of the bottle before I gave up and went to a dermatologist- nothing is worth having every towel and pillowcase I touch smell like sulfur. I started doing a second wash with a different shampoo to reduce how much it smelled, and would spend 5+ minutes rinsing it out. Even so, the smell gets EVERYWHERE. Even my hand towels somehow absorbed it. Multiple washes with detergent, vinegar, or baking soda all have not removed the smell, and I deeply regret buying this product. Granted, I am sensitive to smells, so maybe it won’t bother everyone.

I was getting cystic acne from mask wear and someone recommended trying sulfur soap. I haven’t had a single deep pimple since so it did exactly what I wanted it to do. Unfortunately, it does very little for surface acne, so I use a different cleanser every other day. At one point I had tried using it for some stubborn acne along my hair line and kept gagging all day getting whiffs of sulfur afterwards, so I wouldn’t recommend it for hair/scalp unless you want to smell like rotten eggs.

I credit this soap for clearing my 37 year old skin better than anything I’ve tried since my acne got worse at the age of 31. I have both hormonal and fungal acne. I get seborrheic dermatitis in the winter and my skin is sensitive to over drying, prone to inflammation, hyperpigmentation, long lasting red spots, dullness, flakiness and oiliness. I finally began research EVERY ingredient in the products I use and I somehow stumbled upon this soap. The salicylic gets into the pores and has reduced the number of blackheads and oil build up in my T zone. It seems to reduce overall oil production but because it rinses off it isn’t too harsh or over drying. The sulphur reduces inflammation and has both antibacterial and antifungal properties. My skin has never been so smooth, breakouts are less severe and heal faster with less inflammation, flaking, red marks and hyperpigmentation. I can wear foundation (ones that pass my ingredients research) without it melting off my face. This is the first winter in years that I haven’t had a seborrheic dermatitis outbreak. I am no longer embarrassed to have my face photographed. I use a very gentle cleanser first to remove the majority of the debris and then use this once daily and I have not had the need to increase use to twice daily but perhaps I will to see if I can eliminate even the minor breakouts.

I got this for my face. It works really well on the dry skin you get on your nose and forehead. You don’t have to use it everyday. It does smell like sulfur but it works so I’ll take the smell

So far this cleanser/castile soap with sulfur and salicylic acid seems to agree with my sensitive and acne/irritation-prone skin. My skin can be very finicky and will look great one day and then irritated the next, especially during the past year and a half due to health-related things. This cleanser does a good job to remove oil, dirt, and makeup without over-drying and seems to help calm and soothe my skin a bit while helping it to clear up. I do like the subtly gritty texture and the sulfur smell is not so intense that it cannot be tolerated while using. After all, it’s sulfur, we know what that smells like so it is not surprising that a product containing sulfur would have a very distinct aroma. If it did not, I might question whether or not it actually contained sulfur as an active/primary ingredient. It is a small bottle at just 4oz. but I do not find myself needing to use a large amount each time I wash my face. I will most likely continue to use this product for a while.

I like the way it deep cleans and tightens facial skin

If you have tried everything, try this. I’ve used pro active, lorache posay, salicylic acid, benzol peroxide cleansers and nothing was working. Being 40 and breaking out all the time is super frustrating . I have not had a new breakout since using this and it’s finally clearing all my old breakouts. The smell is not bad at all and it has a gritty texture like pro active cleanser. I use it twice a day and I love it !
