We purchased this before a trip to Florida to protect my teenage son’s face from the sun. He’s dealt with severe acne that has finally cleared up, but still has a ton of hyperpigmentation, and we didn’t want to make it worse with the sun. He wanted a tinted moisturizer type product so it didn’t turn his face white, and the sheer tint looked great and actually evened out his skin tone quite a bit. He absolutely loved the way this product felt on his skin (silky), and it had a very natural “just like skin, but better” appearance. Unfortunately something in this product caused him to break out again. By the end of our week in Florida, his pores were super clogged again and he had new breakouts popping up all over his face. As soon as he stopped using this, his skin cleared up again. I have a hunch that he reacted to the dimethicone in the product, and since there are multiple dimethicone variations in it, that explains the extreme reaction. My son has very sensitive skin, so while this product didn’t work for him, I could see it being a fabulous product for others with less sensitivities. It offered really great sun protection, his face didn’t burn once, and it was easy to layer and reapply with no pilling or cakey look. All in all, I’d say it’s a wonderful product, just not for super acne prone people with potential dimethicone sensitivities.

    Titanium Dioxide Carcinogenicity
Based on the available information, titanium dioxide (TiO2) has been linked to carcinogenic potential. Here are the key findings:

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has classified TiO2 as a suspected carcinogen due to inhalation risk at high concentrations.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has designated TiO2 as a Group 2B carcinogen, “possibly carcinogenic to humans”. This classification is based on animal studies showing a link between TiO2 inhalation and lung tumor development.
The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics notes that IARC’s classification is largely due to studies finding increased lung cancers in animals exposed to TiO2 through inhalation.
Although TiO2 is approved as safe for use in dermally applied sunscreens, some powder forms have been classified as carcinogenic by inhalation in certain EU regulations.
It is essential to note that the carcinogenic potential of TiO2 is associated with inhalation exposure, particularly at high concentrations. Further research may be necessary to fully understand the risks and mechanisms involved.

    Key Takeaways

Titanium dioxide is classified as a suspected carcinogen by ECHA and a Group 2B carcinogen by IARC.
Inhalation exposure to TiO2, particularly at high concentrations, may pose a carcinogenic risk.
Derivatives of TiO2 used in sunscreens and other products are not necessarily linked to carcinogenicity, as they are applied topically rather than inhaled.

    Highly recommend
Love the matte look and the feel of it on my skin. Very lightweight and the tint is a plus.

This stuff is amazing. Makeup that does not clog your pores!!!!

This product is AMAZING! I love it x1000. I have fair sensitive skin and need SPF. I use this after I put on a light moisturizer. This product works like a sunscreen AND light foundation. My face never feels greasy or gooey and the coverage provides a light fair tint that never stings my eyes.

  6. SPG

Easy to use/blend. Not smelly and lightweight. Love wearing when I don’t feel like applying foundation. My “Go To” for daily use. I have oily skin and so far it doesn’t dry out my skin or have caused any clogged pores or breakouts.

  7. Kristen M.

I gave it four starts because I was hoping it could be used as a light foundation. It wears more like a primer. Made my skin feel buttery soft, but definitely not any kind of coverage.

The amount of sunblock that one needs to put on their face to make it be effective far exceeds the amount of tinted moisturizer or foundation one would ever put on their face. It would just be a mess. Or at least that’s been my finding with the dozens of tinted SPFs I’ve tried over the years at any price point in a number of countries.
That having been said… This one’s the closest I found to being able to do that on my rosy fair complexion. I tend to put on layers of face SPF in the morning. I will use a light moisturizer followed by a supergoop or LRP SPF 50+, let that sink in and then come back with this and use it as my face makeup with a little bit of under eye concealer If I’m going into the office or have social plans. If I don’t have any place to be I’ll just mix it 50/50 with one of the above mentioned sunblocks.
It’s pretty good at being transfer resistant. It doesn’t act weird when it gets wet. It’s not hard to take off at the end of the day. And it seems to stain the collars of my shirts less than a lot of other options. If your skin is dry or scaly it will sit on top and look weird but I think that’s true with any texture issues and most products.
    Oh and it’s FSA eligible
