I’ve been using this stuff for years and it’s a must have for me. Heads up tho there is new packaging from the classic (weirded me out a bit until I googled enough to know it’s just the new style).
I have dry skin that tends to be more sensitive to stronger chemicals (not acne prone tho) and it works fine for me.

The IOPE Bio-Conditioning Essence has quickly become one of my favorite layering toner or essences because it is nourishing, odorless, gentle, and helps boost the hydration retention of my skin without making me feel greasy or triggering excessive oiliness in my t-zone (combo skin) or dryness on my cheeks.
I’m over 40 with Roseacea-prone, acne-prone, combination skin. The older I get and in the winter, the less oily I am. I prefer to use toners and essences that are mild and fragrance-free. This one is super gentle; no flares, irritation, or new breakouts.
The IOPE Bio Essence comes in a no-frills, tasteful, colorless frosted glass pour spout bottle. 2.8oz for ~$30. There are daily indicator notches along the side, which I found pointless. I liberally use this toner water near-daily, day and night, and only just hit the day 1 notch at the top. A little goes a long long way and I suspect it’ll take me a couple of months or more to get through this seemingly small bottle. It is hands down one of the best toners/hydration essences I’ve used. Not heavy or greasy; no unpleasant smell or tautness. It absorbs quickly into the skin without feeling taut and leaves a healthy matte finish. Doesn’t cause pilling or flaking of other products layered on after.
As stated, the essence is akin to water, does not have an odor, no alcohols or other astringents, no essential oils, no perfumy additives or fillers, no exfoliants or derivatives. Instead, the main ingredient is Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, which is a fancy name for the almost-water-like stuff that you get by fermenting and filtering yeast. Think SKII, Elizabeth Arden’s Pro Hydrating Mist, and Missha’s Time Revolution line, which also have a fermented yeast base. There are hundreds of them on the market because it is wonderful for the skin as it is naturally rich in various antioxidants, amino acids, and minerals. This along with the skin-balancing benefits of niacinamide (B3) and no essential oils or smell in the IOPE’s formulation makes me super happy. I think it is likely suitable for all skin types/all ages.
To use: this facial treatment water can be used in place of your toner or essence step or both. I splash it on whether I’m layering on other toners or serums regardless of their purpose because this IOPE one is so nice to use. Just be sure you follow up with your favorite moisturizer. It delivers on a balanced skin tone and boosts the hydration benefits when paired with my facial lotion. Can be used AM and PM. Can be applied with your hands (which I prefer, dribbling a generous amount into my palms and lightly patting it over my face and neck), in a mister (which I’ve done too because of how watery it is, whereupon I luxuriate in face misting like I’m in a Korean beauty commercial), or with cotton rounds (might be a waste as the cotton will absorb more of this essence than it will transfer).
IOPE is a mid-range-priced skincare sub-brand under the Amorepacific Korean beauty corporate umbrella.

I have combination dehydrated skin, it’s super sensitive, & acne prone. I struggle to find products don’t break me out or cause an allergic reaction but this WORKS FOR ME. It leaves my skin moisturized, smooth, minimizes my pores and it brightens my complexion. Also, It layers well with other products. My one complaint is that It’s a little hard to get the product out of the bottle. I recommend you not to use cotton pads because you’ll waste products. A couple of drops go a long way.

I bought this because I watched the video Alice from Aliceintherabbithole’s YouTube made. I’ve been using this for one month now, I usually apply in two thin layers. There is still about 1/4 of the bottle left but I only use it once a day at night, I like using the Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Essence in the morning. I cannot believe the difference this made in how even and clear my skin looks, it just has such a healthy glow. It also helped reduce some texture, maybe because it helps the products after absorb better. I really love the texture and how nice it feels to apply. My skin really absorbs this well, it doesn’t sit on my skin at all. For reference I am combination leaning more dry due to the winter. I really wish I could buy the larger bottle of this on Amazon, I already repurchased this product just in the larger size on Stylevana so I don’t run out! Their shipping is significantly slower but worth it if you don’t need it immediately.
