As stated in the heading, I think this is a great beginner oil cleanser. It’s gentle on the skin, glides smoothly, removes all makeup and sunscreen with ease. I use it as my first cleanse and massage for about 60 seconds (for circulation and relieving muscle tension in jaw). When water is added, it turns into a milky white, non-suds wash. Pump works great and 1.5 pumps gives me all the oil I need. Non irritating on my sensitive skin. No scent or added fragrance! A bonus to those of us sensitive to fragrance. Great amount in comparison to cost, very affordable.

It may be too cleansing? I double cleanse and I’ve noticed that when I use this as my first cleanse, my skin is stripped of natural oils. I’ve noticed that since using this, my skin seems thirsty and dehydrated, so I’m using more of my toners, essences, and moisturizers. I’ve never had other cleansing oils do that, and this was the only thing new in my routine. Additionally, skincare technology is so advanced now that this cleansing oil lacks in comparison to some of the others. It would be great if it had more ingredients that aid with pores, black/whiteheads, or gentle exfoliation.
CONCLUSION:
I won’t repurchase, but I’m definitely going to finish the bottle I have. I could see how people new to oil cleansing or building skincare routines could really benefit from this. Layer on the moisture if you notice your skin becoming dehydrated with this product! 3.5/5 ⭐️

Update: I’ve been using for almost 2 years. Still the best gentle cleanser I’ve used. Many nights I don’t need a second cleanse. 2 pumps even gets off sunscreen, makeup and waterproof mascara. I take my time and massage into my dry face. Then I add water and rinse clean. Pat dry. I recommend to all my friends.
This is a good cleansing oil at a good price. I don’t notice any scent. But it’s not just that 1 pump removes ALL my make-up… Including mascara. It’s the emulsifiers they added that makes this rinse off cleanly. No greasiness at all. I use this every night as my first cleanse. My face feels good after. Not dry and not greasy. I then use CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser as my second Cleanse. I’m 71-y/o and I have tired, dry skin, but not sensitive skin. My nightly skin routine goal is to cleanse and moisturize. Best skin possible. I’ve tried other oil cleansers. I’ve used CeraVe cleansing balm. I liked that a lot. It was simply too expensive and the balm didn’t apply as silky smooth as this. My morning and night skin routines are a deliberate time to be in the moment. I don’t hurry thru them. Sounds crazy. This is one of my anchor products.

I heavily sunscreen my face every day and I was struggling to find anything that will take off waterproof sunscreen completely. This is the stuff! Takes off sunscreen, waterproof makeup, cleanses beautifully and leaves my skin feeling great. I only use one other very gentle, mineral face scrub after I use this that I buy from a local vendor. I don’t think having other products is necessary.
I have oily skin. I have visibly oily skin after about 12-16 hours after I shower so if you have dry skin or normal skin you may or may not find this drying and require some kind of moisture. Compared to CeraVe hydrating facial cleanser this product made my skin feel much more hydrated.

This thing is like a butter knife cutting through your makeup at the end of the night. So soft but efficient, it removes everything in one or two washes- glitter, eyelash glue, heavy cosplay makeup, memories of your ex. It should be illegal how fast it and easy it works, cutting down your time after a night out down to nothing so you can get to sleep faster without rubbing your face dry with wipes. I love this so so so much

Do not use for massage.
Do not stop with washing your face after using this with water alone.
Double cleanse, people! Always use a mild cleanser after using this to remove makeup/sunscreen, eventhough your face might feel squeaky clean after.
Works a lot better than any micellar water.
Smells a little coconut-y to me (I know it has olive oil in it).
200ml of really light oil (less viscous than Extra Virgin Olive oil and more similar to a mineral oil).
It is so satisfying to see all the gunk on your skin dissolving (including kohl!) and turn milky when a little water is added.
I tested with some makeup remover micellar soln and there was no trace of foundation on the cotton pad after.
It(and other Hada Labo products with pump) also has this handy little plastic vice to stop the pump action and thus prevent spillage during travelling!
Only drawback is it costs MORE than double its original affordable US price( it costs about 450INR {688 yen} in Japan)!!! 😣

I am over 40, have normal skin, and wear eye makeup and a tinted waterproof sunscreen daily. I also use RetinA at night. Previously I was using mineral or coconut oil to remove makeup in my PM Skincare routine…which left my skin so greasy, I had to then wash 2 or 3 times, stripping my skin in the process – and still not completely getting all my eye makeup off!
Bought this on a YouTube recommendation. This medium weight oil has no fragrance. It feels good on the skin and most importantly, it does the job! I gently wipe off the excess with a cotton pad (which probably isn’t necessary) then all I need to do is wash up one time with my usual cleanser. Actually, if you add a little water and continue to gently rub your face after applying the oil, then rinse, you may be able to get away with not doing the second step of using a face wash. It seems to rinse away fairly well…but I haven’t done this yet, i have always used a cleanser after, so I can’t say for sure if all the oil comes off or if there would be any problems from not washing Any residue left behind off of your face.
I’ve noticed no adverse side effects in the week or so that I’ve been using it. It doesn’t burn my eyes, and it hasn’t caused any irritation or breakouts. Nice plus is that the packaging is fun! I will definitely repurchase.
I read that this company is now CRUELTY FREE
Edit: been using this a few years now, while trying other brands in between, and always go back to this. It’s the least expensive, and works the best!
