I have used Dr Hauschka products off and on, mostly on, for 30 years and i always come back to it. The line has grown a lot since then but I think the basics are still the best for me. I do try new things but I get the most compliments when using this line. I object to how expensive it has become and that is one of the reasons I try other things. Being able to buy it on Amazon makes it do-able every where else it is very expensive. It used to be sold only in health food stores or from them, lately I have seen it in some store like CVS and I think the price is even more inflated there. I am in my 70’s and have always been into serious skincare being very fascinated since my early teens. I have very sensitive skin that seems to be even more so lately and this really is soothing for me. I seem to always be disappointed by other products.

I started using Dr. Hauschka skin care for my ridiculously sensitive face almost 20 years ago. Before that I’d had continuous issues with adult acne, dryness and irritation caused by other product use. Now I have none of those problems. At first I used the daily cleanser which has some exfoiliant in it, the toner, and the cleansing milk for make-up removal. I found the daily cleanser was too harsh and the toner too drying but the cleansing milk has stuck. It’s the only cleanser I use, ever, out of fear of bad reactions to preservatives, detergents or fragrances in other products and by bad reactions I mean itchiness, rash and lesions. Y’all, if you have any of those issues, read on, imma bout to lay some tips on ya… I use this in the morning and before bed every day and anytime I need to remove make-up. For make-up removal I first use a cotton ball dampened with hot water to get the lion-share of eye make-up off (I don’t use waterproof mascara), wet face, rub the cleansing milk into face and eyelids then use a washcloth dampened with hot water to remove product. It really gets it all the make-up off this way. For wetting and rinsing my face I use straight-up cold water which won’t strip the product completely off and really helps prevent my face from feeling tight and dry. I only moisturize after my morning wash to let my skin replenish it’s natural oils overnight. If I feel the need to exfoliate I first apply this product to my face, shake a little plain white sugar onto my hand, gently rub it around the crusty patches then rinse. Baby smooth, no need for another harsh scrub or microbeads of plastic going down the drain. In the winter it’s a perfect daily mask for my dry skin. I wet my face, apply cleansing milk, let it soak in for a couple minutes while I brush my teeth then rinse with cold water. I buy 3 bottles of this a year and altogether it’s bargain compared to other high-end products. For occasional clarifying of pores I apply a mask using plain bentonite clay but I don’t end up with tons if build-up usually. I might do this 3 or 4 times a year.

I have been using this product off and on for many years. Probably 15 years. And every time I re-order it and use it again I forget how much I love it. Specifically for winter skin. It is so silky so calming so soothing, smells amazing. It is absolutely lovely. Worth every penny. And I’m an Aesthetician. 🙂

This is my favourite cleanser so far. I have tried DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, La Roche Posay Toleriane Cream Cleanser, BioDerma Sensibio Micellar H2O, and Weleda Almond Milk cleanser. DHC worked very well but was too strong and dried out my skin after using it everyday, La Roche didn’t seem to cleanse well and smelled like chemicals as well as leaving a residue that felt unnatural, BioDerma cleansed well but stung my eyes, and Weleda didn’t seem to clean much. I used all of those products until the bottle was empty to give them a good trial.
The Dr.Hauschka just seems to agree with my skin. It doesn’t clean too harshly, and while it does have trouble removing all your makeup, my skin feels very happy and soft afterwards, very soothed. No redness. I try to follow the Dr.Hauschka regimen of cleansing then toning at night, and letting your skin breathe and fix itself rather than suffocating it with moisturizer. By doing this my skin has been very soft and calm.

I have been using this product for many many (over 20) years and nothing treats my skin better. I love how it cleans my face gently and still get’s all my make up off even after washing my face. I like to use this as a final wash for my face because it is so moisturizing. Great for living in a dry climate. I have tried other products from Dr Hauschka products I have to say that they were not for me. But this product although pricey is really a great face wash for those with sensitive skin or just want a clean smooth was that will not leave your face dry. I also find that when I use this product I also use less moisturizer so win win.

As a gift, I immediately discovered that this was different from other face products I’d used most of my life. First, I like this cleaning milk very much; it does clean and leaves my face feeling deeply well treated most all day or night. Second, this product feels and smells awfully good, much better than most other such offerings. Finally, its many good qualities combine into a great shaving aid: this is the opposite of foamy and thick, and instead, your skin and the blade meet happily and speedily. I highly recommend this product as the basic or starting place for teen and adult guys.
