Well this is fun! I’ve never seen a moisturizer with a built in roller before. It’s quite relaxing and feels nice to use the roller to apply the cream. The cream itself is nice and moisturizing with a pleasant fragrance; a perfumey, almost candy-like smell but not quite, that’s not too strong and doesn’t linger. It’s cooling and calming to my skin as I apply it. It leaves me quite dewy and feels a tad greasy after it absorbs, which I’m not a fan of during the day, but I am using this at night so it’s not an issue. It does a pretty good job at minimizing fine lines, but of course nothing will work miracles.
It takes a few uses to get a hang of the roller to apply the cream as you roll. The first time I used way too much, the second time I applied the amount better but inconsistently. I end up spreading it by hand when I’m done. The other issue I have is that it only seems to roll well on large, flatter areas, like my neck, decolletage and cheeks (the listing title does say it’s for neck and decolletage, but the box says it’s for the face and discusses how it has a lifting effect for cheeks, smile lines, and eyes). I have to scrunch my forehead to get it to roll there, and it’s really tough around the nose and mouth, also a reason I always spread it well with my fingers after. In places it doesn’t get enough traction it still glides across my skin, but doesn’t roll. In those places no cream ends up getting applied and it accumulates around the base. The whole system honestly works best if you open the cap and apply the cream by hand, then put the roller back on and do the rolling after. The instructions also seem to imply this, with the english instructions saying to use an appropriate amount and apply in a circular motion, though the Korean instructions say both that, and gives the tip of squeezing first and then rolling after.
As for the ingredients, I’m pretty impressed. It has two types of collagen, several benficial and fragrant oils, mushroom stem cells, three types of hyaluronic acid, niacinamide for brightening (I am guessing 1-2% based on it’s position in the ingredients list), and 10% cica for calming. The only thing missing is maybe a collagen boosting peptide or two, but it’s a nice formulation as is.
