I really like this scrub. Its pretty intense (and very grainy) so I only use it twice a week. It does make my skin feel super soft and fresh after use. I use it at bedtime so the products I use after scrubbing get to soak in and work while I sleep. I would buy this again … but 1 tube will probably last a year I would think!

Prior to this product, I’ve used Kiehl’s Pineapple Papaya Facial Scrub, the perennial favorite St. Ive’s Apricot Scrub, and Derma e microdermabrasion scrub. This one is my favorite because of its super fine texture. It leaves my skin really smooth and does not make my acne-prone skin break out (which the Pineapple Papaya Scrub does). It’s pricey compared to drugstore products, but lasts a long time and the results are worth it. I’m on my second tube now and will keep buying!

an amazing product that works like a charm. it gives astonishingly smooth skin simply by exfoliating with much finer, crushed up shells rather than beads, etc, as found in other products. i use it every week or so, massaging very gently and following up with a good moisturizer. it lasts forever and is totally worth every penny. it’s one of those “lifer” products i will use forever.

I use an 8% AHA serum every night for exfoliation purposes, but have also been using a scrub for most of my adult life. This is by far the finest-grained one I’ve found. I use it twice a week in the morning. It’s pricey, but a little goes a long way because I don’t want to sandpaper my skin. At my age, I ought to have a lot of little lines on my face, but I don’t have any. That’s not solely because of this product, but it sure contributes. I love the fact that it’s in a tube instead of a jar, so it can’t get contaminated, and even more than that, I love the fact that it’s fragrance-free. This tube will last me about six months.

I bought this product to exfoliate the dry skin spots on my face due to my pha toner. It definitely removes the flakes BUT it gave me terrible acne! I would prefer the dry spots over acne any day

I am an Asian man in my 20s with sensitive and oily skin along with a bit of an uneven skin tone and texture. My skin is tan and I have large pores as well as very tiny red blotches all over my cheeks as it is sensitive. I have used other Kiehl’s products before and have found success with it which is why I opted to used this product with the intention of improving my skin texture. I used it once a week (sometimes more)for over 3 months and I can honestly say that I did see improvements in my skin texture and tone.
My skin tone was much more even and I think that this product is better at improving skin tone than texture. Don’t get me wrong, my skin tone is not 100% perfect but using this product definitely helped it significantly. I am satisfied and surprised with the results for my skin tone as I did not expect that big of an improvement in this area.
I was a bit disappointed with the improvements in my skin texture though as I was expecting much more from reading all the over the top reviews. After scrubbing your face with this thing for the first time, you will notice that your face is a lot more smoother. I was so surprised by how smooth my face was after using it just once but the improvements do not get much better from the first use. I did notice that my face was a lot more smoother when I touched it but it does not appear to be very smooth when I look at myself in the mirror. My pores and acne scars are still visible. My pores do look somewhat smaller but not by much. My nose which has visible pores and uneven skin texture did not see any improvements as all even though I focused on this area a lot when scrubbing it onto my face. I also suspect that the improvements to skin texture are temporary as my face did seem to somewhat revert back to its original state between use which was disappointing. So, this isn’t some miracle product or anything but I am definitely keeping it in my weekly skincare routine as I do see some improvements.
After scrubbing your face with it, your face becomes oily and it does make me a bit uncomfortable to go out in public with a super oily face. Also, I do get some red blotches (very little) due to the irritation that it causes to my sensitive skin but it does goes away after one night so I’m not too concerned. My face gets more irritated when I shave if that helps serve as some guide. However, the redness & oilyness after using it does make you feel like it was less effective but wait a couple of days and you will see that it did work. Also, I apply the Kiehls Centella Recovery skin salve on my face immediately after using this. I find that it does soothe the irritation and the more you use the less irritated your face feels. However, using the salve makes your face look even more oily as it has a ‘sticky’ composition.
When using this product, I advise people to stay away from the area around your eyes, near the cheek bone (not the nose) as much as possible. Getting any around this area will leave your face blotchy and feeling a bit itchy. I would advice people not to scrub this thing too harshly or too long (more than 20 seconds on any one area) as it can cause you skin to get scratches which leads to scabs.
