I love this stuff – all the way down to the pump people complain about. The smell is amazing; haven’t gotten tired of it yet. The ingredients are top notch. I have sensitive skin and keratosis pilaris so very particular about ingredients and quality and my skin was smooth from the first shower.
I get it’s not inexpensive but with the right cleaning cloth one bottle will last you a while. I shower once a day, use an African mesh cloth (specifically Luv Scrub) and 2-3 pumps is more than enough to clean from head to toe. I can see going through it quickly with a cotton wash cloth. I’ve have over a month and have used only 1/4 of the bottle.
If you can’t get past the pump, get an empty bottle and buy the refill; just know you’ll probably use too much/more than needed. I think it’s designed to avoid overuse.

When you pay a premium for a shower gel, the least you should expect is for the pump to work so that you can use it. This pump does not work. Ridiculous. Now I read the reviews, it’s clear this is an ongoing issue!!!

For this price point I must say I’m disappointed at this body wash. The lather is good and the consistency of the body wash is nice. Not very drying on the skin so overall OK.
Unfortunately the scent itself is very underwhelming and doesn’t last long. It is as if they tried to copy Le Labo fragrances but with a bit less oomph to it.
Worth a try but won’t be buying it again.

Youthful, Healthy Skin with Evil Goods Balm and Salt & Stone –
I was looking for a mild liquid pre-shave facial wash w pleasant, non-lingering scent. I found this product, and like other Reviewers, thought it was waaay to pricey to use as a daily body wash. However, the ingredients looked like it might be great as a facial wash. The detergent in this product is “sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate” which is a far milder detergent than the ubiquitous and much harsher “sodium lauryl sulfate” (aka sodium dodecyl sulfate or SDS) which is used in most body washes as well as laundry detergents, dishwashing liquids and other heavy duty agents. I purchased the Bergamot and Hinoki and found the scent to be quite pleasant and not lingering. After wetting face w hot water, a single partial-pump is more than enough to work up a wonderful facial and neck lather and to prepare for application of shave gel, cream etc. Razor glide is smooth, and all rinses off quickly and easily. This detergent is also much more easily biodegradable than SDS, too. At this price point, and limited volume needed for facial washing, the economics are great! And the pump avoids all the messiness of using bar soaps at the shaving sink.

I’m not sure what I expected, but the Santal fragrance is pretty masculine. It smells very similar to my husband’s old body wash from old spice. I had purchased this based on other female reviewer comments but can say this is not something I’ll be using due to the smell. This one is getting passed to my hubs. The pump was a bit tricky to open as others have mentioned. Just keep on mind, you have to turn the top clockwise.

I knew going in what the size and prices were but figured what the heck let’s try it out anyways. It lathers really nicely and smells great too. It doesn’t need to be priced at $30 something. It’s 15oz, it should max be priced at $15. This is the same size as my hand soap from Raw Sugar. Actually…it’s 2oz less than the raw sugar. I think at $30 this should at least be 24-32oz product especially considering it comes in a very thin feeling, cheap plastic bottle. If it came in a nicer glass container like some other high end products, the price could be justified that way as well. Unfortunately due to price I won’t be purchasing again.

This has not disappointed. I love everything Black Rose & Oud. The deodorant, the mist & now the body wash. Luxurious, it works, and everything does what it claims to do. I feel squeaky clean, moisturized and smelling amazing all day long! And I’ve started using this product in the heat of the summer – when temps are in the 80-90’s. I am a fan and will be ordering the other fragrances as well. I love them ALL.
