Why would one be required to break glass with their hands to get to a product? I managed to avoid cutting myself until opening the 2nd to last last vial. Yes, that’s blood on the box. The left vial shows the white line that you’re supposed to break the vial at. It’s always a little jagged once broken, I tried to remove a sharp point so it wouldn’t end up in the product. I almost returned the product right away because of the packaging but really wanted to give it a try. I don’t think it’s worth the hassle and risk. I would consider buying it again if they improve the packaging

Other reviewers have commented on the fragility of the glass ampoule that the product comes in. While you do have to be careful when opening one, this delivery system is the only way to insure the potency of the Vitamin C. Any Vitamin C product you buy that is in a bottle that you use over time is really worthless because Vitamin C loses its potency VERY rapidly. I just take a hand towel and put it around the entire ampoule and gently snap off the top through the towel. I add a few drops of the Vitamin C to a small amount of hyaluronic acid (that I also get on Amazon) and it spreads easily over my entire face, neck, and decollete. Since it is expensive, I was tempted to stretch it out to 3 – 4 applications per ampoule, but once you open it, it — like all other Vitamin C products — loses its potency. So I only use 2 applications per ampoule, but it really should come in single dose ampoules. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the cost, not the quality of the product. It’s a high-end product with a high-end price.

Today was my first experience using this product and as some of the other reviewers pointed out, breaking the glass with the plastic sleeve provided, left tiny shards of glass inside so I used a qtip to remove the tiny shards and then used the product with no problem. Next time I will use a cloth as some others suggested, and see if that works better. Regarding the product itself, it left my face feeling amazing. Not at all oily which is a surprise. I used 1/2 the container as recommended. I’m wondering if this will work on hands as well?

I have used ISDIN Flavo-C for a few years. I love the product – it goes on well and makes my skin feel great. But a recent change in packaging resulted in 4 ampules arriving broken. I hope they will change it back.
