  1. Texas Mama

I am a big fan of Dr. Dennis Gross Products, but had never tried this liquid peel before. After just 1 use, I’M HOOKED! I tried it at night during my bedtime routine, and then applied a light moisturizer about a half hour later. The product is in glass bottles, not cheap plastic. Easy 2 step process and NO BURNING! The next morning, my face looked smoother and kind of had a nice glow to it (not the red irritated glow, but a healthy glow!). I have been using it twice a week now and LOVE THIS STUFF. Its pricier than drug store products but WAY worth it as its less expensive than getting a professional peel and still works for me. A little goes a long way to have an effect. My face looks just as good as when using Retin A, but without the burning and occasional ugly dry patches. If you want your skin to look better with no pain or peeling and minimal effort, TRY THIS!

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Advanced Liquid Peel:

I have used this same peel but the ones that are in individual packets. This is a more economical way to get that same product with less waste. I have super dry and sensitive skin and I can only use this once a week but it does wonders to help with texture and dryness. I usually do this at night and then follow up a really good moisturizing cream – don’t use anything with vitamin C or other ingredients that are exfoliating since it can cause a disaster. It does cause some redness but my skin is also sensitive – the redness fades within 10 minutes.

    How to Use:
-Use up to three times a week, AM or PM.
-Apply Step 1 by placing a cotton ball firmly over bottle opening and making two three-second turns to dispense the proper amount.
-Massage cotton ball onto clean, dry skin until cotton is dry, avoiding contact with eyes.
    -Wait two minutes.
    -Repeat process with Step 2.
    -Do not rinse.
-Note: Some users may experience mild redness and/or a tingling sensation. This should subside within five to 10 minutes after applying Step 2.
-Follow with your choice of Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare serum and moisturizer (each sold separately).
-Alternate with Alpha Beta® Daily Peels (sold separately) if desired.

-Blend of Six AHAs: Exfoliates and supports cell turnover for visibly radiant skin with a more even-looking texture.
-Salicylic Acid (BHA): Reduces pore blockages and supports natural collagen production.
-Bromelain (Fruit Enzyme): Digests proteins in the stratum corneum to detach dead skin cells.

I’ve never had a ‘professional peel’ before and likely never will, so these at-home peels are a good choice for my aging skin. I have used Dr. Gross’s peel packets, serums, and moisturizers for some time and with good results. Do I see a significant change in my skin? Honestly, it takes a long time to see a lot of change in skin so it is difficult to tell, especially since I take good care of my skin, but my skin has been looking ‘brighter’ and maybe smoother, and definitely softer.

This brand has a lot of good reviews, and mentions. I saw this peel set on Byrdie so I gave it a try.

There is no irritation to my skin, and that surprised me. I have slight-rosacea-prone skin so it can easily redden, or feel itchy, or sometimes burning after using some products, but I have good luck with this brand. I follow directions, always.

There is mention of organic cotton balls but my set did not include that so just be aware of that if you are expecting cotton balls. The packets set I have came with a serum. I wish this set, at $95, would have come with the serum, too. That would take at least some of the sting out of the price.

I use my own cleansing towels that I can sanitize between uses–that would be great, too, if they included something that can be re-used so we aren’t filing the landfill with ‘stuff.’

I have come to trust this brand as I’ve been using Dr. Dennis Gross for quite a while. It is pricey, and that comes from his being a long-time (25 years) and ‘innovative’ dermatologist. If I use this 1-2 times a week, it will last a while but these are small bottles.

(This review is for Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Advanced Liquid Peel)

I have heard a lot of good things about Dr. Dennis Gross products and was looking forward to using this product. However, when I received this product, it had no type of safety seal at all. The box had no type of safety seal, and the bottles had no type of seal at all. As someone who takes safety very seriously especially with products you put on your face, I chose not to use this product.

At a price of $95 I am disappointed they did not use any type of product safety as this product could easily be tampered with.

  5. Rascal

I love this peel. My skin feels so soft. And it is a great value vs the packaged wipes. I use it 3 times a week. Couldn’t be more pleased

  6. Texas Mama

I was excited to received this advanced liquid peel from Dr. Dennis gross. Each bottle is one oz. One of the bottles is the peeling enzyme, the other bottle is the neutralizer. You apply the enzyme with a cotton pad and leave on your face for two minutes then use the neutralizer on another cotton pad going over every place you applied the peel. Immediately after application, your skin will look brighter. With continued use this really helps maintain the health and vitality of your skin. It helps slightly to reduce small, wrinkles, as well as pigmentation. I found that scrubs no longer really work for me and I feel like they tear my skin. I’ve really moved toward chemical exfoliation, and though it sounds harsher, it’s actually more beneficial to your skin.
