DOCTOR BABOR CALMING RX Soothing Cleanser is a milky cleanser without added fragrance, though it has a light smell from the ingredients. I have sensitive, dry skin and don’t find this as calming or soothing as expected, but it’s also not irritating in that it doesn’t sting my skin or make my skin get bumps or a rash. I don’t find this overly drying, but it also doesn’t make my skin feel particularly hydrated.
This cleanser leaves my skin looking rosy, but it doesn’t feel as hydrated or calm as when I use one of my usual washes. It doesn’t feel irritating either and instead seems lightly exfoliating to my skin, maybe from sodium lactate. A little chemical exfoliation isn’t a bad thing as my skin can get dull and exfoliation helps it absorb my creams and other products and can help it become more calm and hydrated over time. But I did expect this cleanser to have more of a soothing feel, and daily use is too much for my skin at this point.
I also can’t rule out a mild reaction to an irritant as the cleanser has irritants, such as microsilver and Achillea Millefolium Extract. Both get a “worst” rating by Paula’s Choice as they can be irritating (though Achillea Millefolium Extract can be soothing too). These aren’t ingredients I use regularly, so one or another may be irritate my skin enough that the cleanser doesn’t feel soothing. While I’m more inclined to think the redness is exfoliation rather than irritation, I can’t really say yet. But the product name suggests this should be more calming than it is for me.
This cleanser has some good dry skin ingredients, plus skin soothing Evening Primrose Oil. While the silver is debatable, it seems like a good quality wash overall and may feel more calming to those who don’t have sensitive skin. All I can say for sure is that it’s not a particularly soothing or calming wash for me at this time. But I can’t say if the silver or something is causing light irritation or if this cleanser is just lightly exfoliating and may benefit my skin over time. I like using it up to a couple times a week to address dull skin, but it’s not calming enough for me to use it daily. 4 stars. Made in Germany.

My enraged skin has been an annoying issue for quite some time, with no relief in sight… but since I’ve made Doctor Babor the core of my skincare routine? Not so much! It’s ingenious creations have given me the right weapons to combat my skin’s dreaded patches of flaky irritation. It used to not take much for me to be enflamed with a cruel flare up, but now my sensitive skin has ceased its mighty attraction to the red dragon.
Once I began applying this supple cleanser onto my face, a pampering sensation has overtaken my skin and calmed my irritation and made it nonexistent. The welcomed relief was almost instant and pleasing. And suddenly, I couldn’t exactly remember why I hated my dreaded skin so. No more stressing of the texture, plus the sensitivity I had grown accustomed to enduring, had diminished it cruel touch on my face. My skin is simply loving the gentle caress the organic ingredients in this milky cleanser is repairing it with… and I am adoring the graceful results! Awesome skincare line! Worthy of six stars!

I have been using Babor gentle cleansing milk for years for my extra sensitive, dry complex skin. I tried CALMING RX Soothing Cleanser only because mine was out of stock & now this is my new cleanser. I would recommend it for any type of skin…it is soothing as it is an effective cleanser!!! Highly recommend trying it!

This arrives completely shrink-wrapped. This gives such tremendous peace-of-mind. Next, remove this from the box (which is one more layer of protection). You will notice how easy the pump system works and how clean the deliver is! Basically, the packaging and the bottle design are outstanding.
Now, the product itself: it emerges as a medium-thin consistency. When you rub it between your hands it does not lather (which is the hallmark of a cleanser that will not burn sensitive or injured skin). Now, massage this over your face. It feels very comforting as it cleans. And, it really does not sting or burn even overworked, windburned, or sensitive skin. And, this rinses super easily.
This is a blessing for people who just had a chemical peel, laser treatment, etc. It does not hurt and it soothes. Such an outstanding and thoughtful product. Very highly recommended!

A very nice facial cleanser for those who need to make sure they are using something that will not irritate their skin. This glides on easily and feels calming to the skin. It will not lather or bubble up as some do, but there will be a slippery creamy feeling that lets you know that you are covering and cleansing your skin with ease. It’s gentle and works well to remove dirt, dead skin cells, excess sebum and other gunk you need removed. When you are done, it rinses away easily without leaving you with annoying residues.
Love that this contains microsilver particles which do wonders with helping to fight germs and bacteria. This will go a long way with helping to combat breakouts for those who need to be extra careful about such things regarding their complexion. Of course, it’s also good for other skin types without leaving the skin feeling dry or overworked.
Good for all skin types and should be good for those with sensitive skin.
