I have moderately sensitive skin, mostly my cheeks, just below my eyes. I feel like I’ve grown to have a better understanding of how products will interact over the last 10 years or so, but this one stumped me. No matter what face wash I used before applying or what moisturizer I used after, this serum always seemed to be the factor that made my skin feel like it’s burning.
I still give this product 4 stars because my skin reaction means the serum actually delivers on the ingredients it says it does.

Having tried many serums from inexpensive to very expensive, the one thing I look for are the ingredients and is the price justified.
At the time of my order this serum is a half an ounce for $49.99, which is half the size of most serums and 3 to 4 times the price. What you won’t see is the combination of ingredients that are in this serum at a low price anywhere.
I did look up all the ingredients in this serum and it is everything that’s promised. I am attaching a photo of the ingredients and anyone can go online and even use my photo to look up all the ingredients themselves.
Although one reviewer wrote they have sensitive skin and had no issue, this is a product with a lot of acids, so typically you could have some irritation especially because the serum contains; Glycolic acid, Absorbic Acid, Citric Acid and Lactic Acid. These ingredients are important in order to do their job which is to remove dull skin and hyperpigmentation – at the same time it can cause dryness and redness. The other ingredients I won’t name them all but they help to counteract the effect of the acids at the same time drawing in moisture to give your skin a healthy glow.
As for me using the product itself, you need very little – I put one dot on my forehead, one on each cheek, my chin and my neck and rubbed it in. It did not have much of a noticeable scent and it dried very quickly. I found a little goes a long way with this product which is good because it is such a small amount. You do not want to get this serum too close to the delicate area of your eyes.
In the product listing details it indicates to use twice a week and up to five times a week. On the serum bottle it indicates five times a week. I do not have sensitive skin and I did not have any irritation. I could feel a very slight tingling. If you do have sensitive skin you will want to try it and wait 24 hours to see if you have any reaction other than mild redness and tingling. If not, you can use it 3 to 5 times a week. With any products containing these ingredients, you must wear sunscreen the entire time you’re using it. This is a product to put on at night, however you will still need sunscreen during the daytime because it makes your skin more sensitive to the Sun.
Your skin will feel dry for a week or two which is normal with a serum like this and it’s good to exfoliate once a week to remove the dry skin. I like St Ives apricot scrub and there’s different formulations for different skin types.
In the product listing details it indicates you’ll see results using it one time – which I thought was pretty out there. I would say within a week or two you should see some noticeable results and especially if you exfoliate. This product is returnable and if you try it for a week or two you would be well within the return window of Amazon and so this product is certainly worth a try.

I’m no stranger to chemical peels, and I have been doing them myself pofessional grade at home for many years. The ones I do are much stronger than this, but I have properly done my research to make sure I don’t harm myself. This is a higher percentage, but there are obviously much stronger things out there. It says on there to just do it a couple times a week which I recommend so you can get used to it. I do have incredibly sensitive skin however, because I have been doing these treatments for so long, my skin can handle it. The only issue I typically have is the extra drying and turnover as your skin and the products do their thing. I started by just using this about three or four times a week, and it definitely dried my skin right out which I expected. The very first time I applied it after exfoliating, I did have it burned, but I also expected that too since we are dealing with acids. Anytime you are using products like this, you want to give your skin a full 30 days as that’s how long it takes for the skin to fully turn over for you to see the results. Normally, my skin looks worse before it gets better, especially brown spots as they will get darker at first and then they eventually get better. So don’t assess your skin until it’s been 30 days since you started then you should be able to see a change. Because I exfoliate heavily, I notice results within the first week or two, but I definitely will notice a big difference after a month. Also, never go into the sun without high SPF when doing chemical peels or products that have these types of chemicals in them or you can cause irreversible damage. When you are using these types of products it can remove the protective layer and your skin is in a healing stage. It will not have the typical protection it has from the sun and you could get sunspots or brown spots or other things that even professionals can’t fix for you if you don’t protect yourself while you are using these products. Ask me how I know… Anyway, this seems pretty strong, and I like it. It goes a long way, but some may need to really use less frequently if they notice irritation or their skin is too dry, thank you.
