The toothpaste is great, fresh and minty. About the third use the tube became clogged and the paste looked darker, I was quite grossed out but after further investigation, it seems to be a strip of cardboard or something similar. The toothpaste is fine after removing, was just scary to find.

My kids love the flavor, I love the ingredients. The only thing I’d say is the tube is a bit harder to squeeze than “traditional” toothpaste if you’re switching from that.

I have a 4 and 2 year old, and both of them love this toothpaste. It doesn’t have a strong smell or taste, but I love that it is fluoride free and still has hydroxyapetite in it. Good buy for the money compared to other “clean” toothpastes and is cleaner than a lot of others on the market. It does have a bit of a gritty look to it, but it is not gritty in the mouth and even foams up some! The only negative my kids talk about is how hard the cap is to open, but that isn’t really a bad thing. Will definitely be buying again!

This may be a long review.

I have a topical menthol allergy that has begun to get worse in recent years. The final straw for me was when I was brushing my teeth and felt my gums, lips, and chin burning. It didn’t matter how much I rinsed my mouth or how much I washed my face, it just would not stop. I began searching online for toothpaste that wasn’t mint flavored, prepared to stoop to using children’s toothpaste if need be.

The first company I purchased from was Hismile. Coming from Australia, it was taking forever to get here and I couldn’t continue brushing with water any longer. I turned to Amazon for help. I found several different companies with different products, but most managed to sneak mint in there or had ingredients that I wasn’t interested in. Enter Happy Tooth! I bought the Sweet Orange and the Vanilla Frosting flavors, hoping that I would prefer one over the other. I did. It was the Sweet Orange. My teeth feel so clean when I use this, and in a good way. They’re not dry or stripped.

Hismile arrived and I gave it a go. They use sucralose as their sweetener. The flavors that don’t list menthol sure as heck felt like menthol to me. Despite their fancy flavors, I found myself still wanting to use Happy Tooth. I don’t feel like a rabid squirrel while brushing. I’m confident in the ingredients. The Sweet Orange flavor is delightful. Hismile got donated to my niece and nephew.

The one thing I will say is that using this toothpaste alone didn’t feel like enough for me. My teeth were clean, sure, but it didn’t feel like it made the rest of my mouth clean. I was having to use my tongue scraper more often and I was beginning to feel self conscious about my breath. I added Closys unflavored mouth rinse as my first step. Then Sweet Orange Happy Tooth, followed by The Natural Dentist Orange Zest mouth wash. This trio seems to be working for me, because my teeth are sparkling and white, and my breath is no longer offensive.

I don’t know who decided that mint needed to be the standard for oral care, but I think orange is due its time in the spotlight.

My kids love this toothpaste! It taste just like its says. We have it on subscription and get it every two months. I love that it’s safe for kids if they swallow some too since it’s fluoride free!

SO while I totally understand why there’s no lather for this toothpaste I definitely feel like that’s a hard concept to get over and for kids might be a big turn off because they can’t feel the “cleaning bubbles”. The Tooth Fairy brought this paste as a reward for my kiddos extra special first lost tooth and truthfully I wish I had tested it out before giving it to him because it is so hard to squeeze out of the tube that he can’t do it himself (he’s 5 going on 6 and definitely not a weak one). I guess he said it tastes pretty good and I don’t really have to worry about him ingesting it but I don’t think we will be buying it again. Maybe it’s great for some families but for us, this just isn’t the one toothpaste for us. Price wise and ingredients included I suppose this is worth it. Maybe a different formula or something could really go a long way with this??

The flavor is like a fresh orange. Very good. The cleansing ability is always good. My teeth feel fresh afterwards. Just taking a point off because it is very thick and hard to squeeze out of the tube. You have to put effort into it and I have a bad hand. I won’t repurchase due to that.

  8. Stacey

This toothpaste is good for kids who think mint is spicy. It has an odd flavor that tastes not like Vanilla Cupcake and is a biege color, but my toddler still chooses to use it without a fuss. Nano hydroxypatite is apparently really good for teeth and restores, so I bought this for it’s benefits. It’s a good price too, and lasts awhile. I’ll be prepurchasing and trying the other flavors.
