In terms of ingredients, this gel cream is 10/10 for me *chef kiss*. I’ve finally found a gel cream that is not silicone- or dimethicone-based since silicone never agrees with my skin and tends to clog my pores, although for many silicone is good for locking in moisture. This gel cream has squalane instead to help with moisturizing, and I really love squalane. I use squalane oil in the winter to help with water loss and dry skin, and squalane never breaks me out. It is surprisingy lightweight and absorbs quickly.

In terms of its claim of soothing effects, this gel cream also contains oat seed water, panthenol, and the salt form of licorice root extract, which together help calm down my skin and soothe minor eczema patches on my cheek in a few days. Since it is not moisturizing enough in winter time, I use it as a serum and layer moisturizer and squalane oil on top, and wake up to soft and silky skin! Last but not least, this gel cream does not contain any ingredient that can trigger fungal ance, which is super awesome since I am also very prone to fungal acne.

Will definitely repurchase and stock up! Thank you Purito for such a wonderful product!!!

I put this on my face every morning. I am a redhead, so I’m often red out of the shower. This product reduces that redness and calms my skin.

I was struggling with product breakouts and I wasn’t sure why! I had been using different new products and I had never before struggled with breakouts! I was hesitant to use this because I wasn’t sure if it would make my breakout worse BUT I am sooooo happy I took a leap of faith and started using this product! It did not cause any product breakout! In fact it has helped my skin feel and look sooo hydrated! I absolutely love this product! The gel consistency of the product doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky but it absorbs into your skin in such a beautiful way! I love, love, love this product!

  9. Amazon Customer

The product is really moisturizing. It’s a gel form and did not break me out or irritate my skin. No scent which is fabulous and no stickiness. Very light weight and the price is on point.

Perfect for sensitive, oily skin. Anytime I irritate my skin some kind of way, using this the next day always makes a noticeable improvement in the sensitivity. By day 3, there’s no more stinging and redness. It also gives a really good glow and a little goes a long way… I’ve noticed when I use too much, it leaves a gooey feeling on my face. I recommend just a dime sized dab on the tip of your finger, you can always add more if needed.

Do note that this is a water based moisturizer and it spreads pretty thin, so drier skin may feel neglected by the moisturizer on its own. This one is really good for layering – toner/essence and serum underneath so that the moisturizer can seal everything in without being too heavy.

Edit: okay, so I figured out a system that works best for me since my skin is dry and irritated from retinol and vitamin C. This feels heavenly and soothing. I start with a couple layers of essence. My favorite is Purito CIca. Serum. Oat gel. Dry and irritated spots get treated with a bit of CIca Recovery Cream.

I have been using this product for a few months now. I purchased this after I saw one of the Welsh Twins review it on his YouTube channel. This skinfluencer just couldn’t say enough good things about it. He has oily skin, though, and said he applies a moisturizer over it. I have combination skin and didn’t find it to be very hydrating or moisturizing. Nevertheless, I think someone with oily skin would like this if they lived in a hot or humid environment.

It has a very faint pleasant smell, slightly reminiscent of vanilla. The consistency is medium thickness, but it’s not greasy. It doesn’t feel heavy at all. It absorbs into the skin quickly. This is a quality product, buy I don’t think I will repurchase.

I personally like the Centella Unscented Recovery Cream better. It’s my Holy Grail, and I have purchased it many times. It’s allegedly a dupe for a certain tiger balm by a certain Dr. J. I find it to be much more soothing for my sensitive skin and weak skin barrier. It’s slightly more hydrating than the oat gel, though not by much. I like to layer the two if my skin is really irritated. Or I will apply retinol after the oat gel, and top off with the cream. Both products are good for people with acne. If you have dehydrated skin, I recommend applying 1-3 layers of the Centella Essence first. That’s another Holy Grail of mine.
