I dont always use these as they are pricey but when i know i will be out all day and dont want to have to mess with my ortho wax, these are amazing. They seriously last me 12+ hours and through meals. I generally use them flat how they come, but if you have a weird area to cover you can roll it into a ball and then re roll it into any shape just like ortho wax, and i find it still sticks fantastically (though not quite as good as when you use it flat) ill always keep these on hand

These stay on great while eating food which I like better than using wax. They are individually packaged which I also liked. They sometimes have a hard time staying on initially then stay in great once in place. I have swallowed them before and didn’t even notice, They have no smell or taste. They are a little pricey for the amount you get but work well.

These dots are ridiculously expensive. Down right obscene for what you get! Supposedly one side has adhesive, the side with the little lines. But in reality, neither side is sticky. Or, are both sides sticky? I have no idea! I have even watched YouTube video instructions. You’re supposed to apply them to your wet bracket/tooth, which is supposed to activate the adhesive, but the only thing that happens is they get very slippery. They slip around on the bracket. They slip around on your finger. They start to tear and lose their shape when you’re trying to position them. Then after you have finally managed to get it on the bracket, when you try to take your finger off of the dot, the dot is actually stuck to your finger, not the tooth/bracket. So then you try again. Each time the dot get more and more out of shape and tearing. To then you throw that away and start over with a new one. Sometime the new responds better, and goes on exactly as it should. Many of the slippery wet dots have slipped off my finger and disappeared onto the bathroom rug, and because they’re clear, they are gone for good. However, they are still a little bitty bit better than wax, even though wax is easier to apply, and much cheaper. Wax is cloudy and very thick and ugly. So, because there is no better alternative, I’ll keep using these 14 karat gold dental dots. I’ll just apply for a 2nd mortgage on my house in order to pay for them 😉
*Additional Info! Stay away from those one-piece, clear strips that claim to clip on to your brace’s wires. They do not work at all! My teeth are relatively straight. Just needed a very small 2-4mm correction on one slightly turned front tooth that is almost completely straight now. That clear strip didn’t even clip onto any of the wires without popping right back off as soon as I removed my finger. Plus, they all are non-returnable. I feel like they stole $10.00 from me. Definitely don’t waste your money on those useless things.

I would say STOCK UP! I highly recommend this product for anyone with braces! I have had my braces since April 2024 and I must say, this is the best wax I tried so far. It’s easy to put on and easy to apply. It is pre package in a group. With clean hands, rip one, open package and apply. It stays in place all night long. This great for traveling and on the go. There a slight minty taste and I have also ate and drink with this product. It performs well when I sleep. You can apply more than one to a particular area when the wire pokes. Don’t worry about it not sticking. It activates when in contact with your saliva, so it would be best to make sure your hand are clan and dry when applying. It will become slippy and hard to place in desired location.

I have lingual braces…they go behind your teeth instead of in front. These wax dots have saved my tongue from a lot of pain. They are easy to apply and stay on for the entire day. They are somewhat difficult to remove but I find that they are worth the effort. They are more expensive than the wax strips but I found that these are easier to apply and stay longer.

These are an absolute game changer! I have new braces so of course they are ripping my mouth to shreds. The wax doesn’t stay on well and I’m constantly changing it out. These dots DO NOT move! They stick so well and look so much clearer than the wax and SO SO SO much more comfortable. Must buy if you have new metal in your mouth.

Was hoping these would be better than regular ortho wax, but a pretty hopeless for lingual braces. Might be fine for regular braces.

I’ve been Using dental ortho wax for a long time and it keeps falling off every time I eat anything but this product stays on ! even when I eat it just comes off with Brushing 🙂

I find dental wax really annoying, so I felt desperate enough to give these a try in spite of the price. Unfortunately, for me they didn’t really live up to the hype.
I have four brackets that can poke me. The OrthoDots were not super easy to apply. A little easier than was, probably. I’m sure it gets easier with practice, but the same applies to wax.
The OrthoDots on my molars didn’t stay on very well at all (probably because my top molars are very close and push them off). The OrthoDot on one of my front brackets stayed on until I took it off to brush, but the other came off earlier in the day.
I bought a pack of 6 boxes, and I’m sure I’ll use the rest of them during my time with braces, but I won’t buy more. Fortunately I don’t feel the need to cover my brackets all the time.
