There’s a lot of fake oils out there but this one is truly authentic and it has done great things for my hair and skin! And doesn’t smell weird like the others! Highly recommend

I’m Black with dry-prone skin and a mixture of type 4A & 4B thick curly hair. My hair is damaged due to over-processing and not knowing how to properly take care of color-treated hair ( I used Cantu on my hair.. of all things.. my hair never looked more awful LOL).

I’ve been hearing about Amla oil for a while and finally had the money to buy this back in January and ran out last month. I’m writing this review now in April to sing praises to it because pure amla oil truly is wonderful. It worked SO WELL that my hair stylist (who was aware of my tragic hair history and helped me out immensely) was blown away by how soft my hair was while she washed it and asked me what was in it~!

For daily use, I would massage this oil into my scalp and put it on my ends.
If it was a day when I needed to refresh my hair, then I would put drops of it in my leave-in conditioner, emulsify them both in my hands and run it through my hair.

I would even use this as a pre-poo treatment before washing my hair.
This oil helped even the more damaged parts of my hair feel soft. strengthened my hair, and kept my chronically dry scalp in check.

I can’t say 100% if this helped with hair growth or not since I am doing a combination of things, but I don’t think it’d be fair to deny that it contributed to it~! It helped create a healthy environment on my scalp which helps facilitate growth to begin with, so I’ll give it credit~

I also used this as a face moisturizer at the end of my skincare routine and it made my skin very, very soft and smooth~!

I WILLLL be buying this again as soon as I have the money and I’m getting the big bottle this time!

I saw almost immediate results. My scalp was dry and hair thinning towards my hair part and I started applying this at night (just a little on my scalp and massaging) before shampooing in the morning. My hair is growing back and when I use this my hair looks extra voluminous and healthy after I shampoo. The smell is not really noticeable to me and it is relaxing to massage into my scalp at night. I don’t need to use too much as I use it only in problem areas so I think this will last a very long time. Very good value for the price and high quality stuff.

Amla’s reputation for high content Vit. C, which of course would benefit skin, was the reason I decided to place an order, along with the fact that it was organic. I use it every day after a shower, whether going out dressed up with make up on, or doing tasks around the house in grey sweat pants. It does a good job softening out lines or crow’s feet and goes on like liquid velvet. No fragrance, which is a plus. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the cap; it is nearly impossible to open, espec if is several months old, which is when I thankfully transferred all of it into smaller containers (old extract bottles with droppers). Excellent product, just needs to be more obtainable as far as getting it open goes. Thank you, Velona – thank you, Amazon!

  5. Darleen

It doesn’t smell that good, however it does what it need to do! I used this when I create my hair growth oil and this is one of the products I use in my oil. I recommend this oil.

  6. Lori Lane

I’m 55 with very fine very thin hair. Just two applications and I already see a difference in the strength. The fall out is dramatically reduced. After getting it out my hair feels light strong and clean. Not oily at all.

  7. KAREN

I usually apply Amla oil on my skin, but I wanted to see how my hair (natural, thick, bushy/wavy dense).
My hair drinks up all oils. So I probably won’t be using it that way again.
I prefer the oil on my face. It leaves my face fresh looking, soft & supple. Keeps my cystic acne at bay also.
The oil is light but not runny. It has the right amount of denseness/thickness to use as a facial oil. Great for the Oil cleansing method.

I really like this oil for my hair and scalp. It has an almost peppery smell to me and I like it. I apply it and let it sit a few hour before shampooing once or twice a week. It is calming to the skin and leaves the hair very soft. I’m not sure about regrowth as I’ve not been using it long, but I do plan on using at as a carrier oil for a hair treatment and do plan on reordering. My only negative is the dropper leaks drops easily so be careful. Overall I recommend.

Addition: I’m now using as a carrier oil for rosemary EO for a hair/scalp treatment. This bottle is great for this purpose because I can just calculate the drops I need for the amount of oil and add directly to the bottle.
