Though I just started using this not too long ago, I am impressed. This serum is an “activating” serum, not really sure what that means, but most serums I have used in the past are used as the first step in your skincare routine. This smells so good!!! I pump a couple of drops onto my fingertips of my left hand, which I then dab all over my face. Then take both hands to cover and cup my face and inhale the scent of the serum while warming it up. Pat lightly into my skin and it absorbs completely and doesn’t feel oily. Then I apply a water based moisturizer and done! Like I said, I am impressed.

After reading many good reviews about this product, I’ve decided to invest in my very first Sulwhasoo product. I decided to be very patient with this product, I decided to use this product for at least a month because judging whether or not it does anything good to my skin. And yes, being extremely bored because of the Covid-19 pandemic was what initially caused to to want to purchase and try this product. To my surprise, after using it for about a month, my skin has honestly never looked better as well as more flawless. This product truly did wonders to my skin. I noticed that my skin ended up looking more even, paler, clearer, more hydrated as well as rejuvenated. I also absolutely love the smell of this product, it smells like Chinese medicine but in a good way! If the Covid-19 pandemic is making you to feel bored and you have a little bit of money to spend, I would strongly recommend this product to you, it is a truly great product. I would definitely rebuy this product once I finish this bottle. Overall I would give this product a 10/10.

I love this product! This is an activator serum so it’s a great way to supercharge your current skincare routine. I use right after my cleanser and before my other skin care products. It feels super light and a little goes a long way. Non-sticky, dries quickly, and doesn’t interfere with makeup! A bit pricey but worth the splurge!

This is expensive. I am not the type of person to ever spend this kind of cash on skincare – but believe me when I say this is the most lovely, therapeutic, and effective product I’ve used in my skin in a long time. It’s incredibly hydrating but also sinks in so quickly. With continued use I really noticed a “vitality” to my face. My skin looked brighter, more hydrated, and generally youthful. I’ll be repurchasing this.
When you apply the serum/essence, it sinks in right away. I feel as if the alcohol in this formulation is helping the ingredients penetrate more deeply, and doing the same for other products you layer on top. If you aren’t a fan of alcohol, you can stay away from this. Alcohol does dehydrate skin, but Sulwhasoo seems to have included some deeply hydrating ingredients to counteract this effect. I did some research, and the effect of alcohol on skin has actually be studied quite a bit and they’ve found no real negative side effects, long or short term. But I don’t need research to know this serum makes my skin feel so healthy. The result is a velvety, beautiful texture that sinks in to skin leaving you feeling refreshed and hydrated.

This is my little secret in my skincare routine. When I use this consistently for a few days my skin is softer and looks brighter. I use it directly after washing and it feels like it helps everything else I layer over it to work better.
The scent is herbal-ish but light. It fades after a few seconds and I don’t mind it.

This stuff is magic in a bottle. I use it after my black rice toner. I initially rub it in a circular motion then pat with the palms of my hands, then let air dry just enough to where it is a little “damp” on my face. Then I will use my vitamin c serum (highly recommend after this product!). Everything absorbs so much better and doesn’t feel like I am caking it on. Adding this product alone has improved my skin already in under a week. My skin is so soft and supple compared to before. It pairs perfectly with everything else in my skin care routine. 10/10 recommend getting it, there’s nothing else like it. You definitely get a lot of product for the price point, worth every penny.
