I was concerned that I would damage my gums, but the tool actually prevents me from hurting any areas in my mouth. The tool will only start when you place it in the area to be cleaned, and it does a great job. I never understood why dental assistants make you hurt.

I wished that i would have taken a before and after to just show how good this tool was! It removed all the stains on my front lower and upper teeth with ease. It was super easy to use and took care of the buildup without causing harm to my gums. It didn’t come charged but within a few hours it had 100% battery. I will also be mindful that it does make a screeching sound when cleaning the teeth if you’re sensitive to sound. However worth the purchase!

I initially thought this was just another medical device gimmick that only half worked. I was wrong – this thing really works! Even the directions state that you must be a little patient, but after two or three days of working on the areas I wanted to clean, they became clean. I was able to remove one stain that I had looked at and brushed on for years without getting rid of the stain. Even the hygienist at the dentist office did not remove the stain during my cleanings. But the Morkare plaque remover did!

AWKWARD TO USE
I was all hyped to use this device. However, even with it’s built-in light, it’s difficult and awkward to use. Adding to the cumbersome nature is the mouth mirror instrument they provide. You’ll still need to be face to face with your own vanity mirror to see what you’re doing. But that’s where the problems begin. You have to first get used to knowing which direction to move the device in order to apply it to the correction location on the correct tooth you wish to clean. Going left when you should go right could mean hitting the the wrong tooth on the way to the correct tooth. This device is only good for those with extremely steady hands. Anything other than constant steadiness means you will definitely be touching other teeth when you don’t want to.
EMITS SMOKE
For some reason my device kept emitting smoke on the replaceable head. It didn’t matter if the head was touching a tooth or if I just held it in mid air not touching anything. I returned the device for this reason. Maybe it was defective, I don’t know. I didn’t want to risk damaging my teeth.
NEEDS A WELL-FOCUSED CAMERA
This item would do well with a camera built in. At least that way you can sit comfortably in front of a screen and get a clearer and closer look at what you’re doing. Just make sure to wear some sort of apron to catch any drool that will undoubtedly come out of your mouth.
REPLACEABLE HEAD NOT NARROW/SHARP ENOUGH
You may be able to clean around your gums but you won’t be able to use the pointy head to scoop in slightly below the gums or in between the teeth at the gum line. Perhaps this is acceptable if all you’re after is temporary aesthetics. I did manage to scrape off tartar growth on the side of a tooth. Unfortunately the tartar grew back in that spot within 48 hours.

It works quite well. I never advanced beyond the low setting. It lets you go at your own pace and take your time doing this, rather than having it rushed. I recommend a mirror with a light if using it yourself, that can allow you to get a good view
Of course seeing the Dentist is important but if you’re here you know that and have whatever reason for seeking an alternative. This worked very well for me. Also, I had almost no pain.
More professional dental tools will shoot water which helps clear the area and also reduce the heat of the device. That is one thing this doesn’t have, which means over time it can get a bit hot. Just keep that in mind, as the heat itself can cause pain if it touches your gums. It didn’t get that hot for me, but it’s something to be aware of.
